The University of Evansville’s 28th annual International Bazaar is set for Friday, November 21 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event, which benefits UNICEF, takes visitors on a trip around the world, immersing them in cultures and enabling guests to sample foods from each country represented by students currently studying at the UE.
The family-friendly event is open to the public and will be held in Ridgway University Center on UE’s campus. General admission tickets are $5.00 and entrance for University of Evansville students and children five and under is FREE.
In addition to all-you-can-eat global cuisine, the International Bazaar’s entertainment features performances and interactive cultural booths where guests can try on native clothing, test out instruments from countries all over the world, and more.
“This year the event is bigger than ever,†says Lauren Doss, Assistant Director of Cultural Engagement and International Student Services. “There’s something for the whole family, including a Kids Corner where kids can get their faces painted or pick up passports to get stamped at each booth.â€
This year’s theme is centered on the stars and on the idea that we are all united under a starry sky. One focal point of the event will be a Peace Wall, a large interactive art installation that grows throughout the evening as guests add personal wishes to a collection of paper stars.
The International Bazaar is the final event of International Education Week at UE, which starts on Monday, November 17.
