UE volleyball announces spring schedule
Aces set for a busy month
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – A busy schedule of matches is on the slate this spring for the University of Evansville volleyball team as head coach Zach Weinberg has announced the spring schedule for the Purple Aces.
“This spring slate will challenge us in exactly the ways we need to be challenged,” Weinberg said. “As we try to find our new identity as a team and get used to playing in the new systems the staff is asking the players to execute, we’re excited to see what it looks like with an opponent on the other side of the net.”
On Saturday, March 22, the Aces travel to Franklin, Tenn. for the College Spring Tourney at Alliance Volleyball Club. UE faces Middle Tennessee State and 11:15 a.m. before facing Austin Peay at 1:15 p.m. and Chattanooga at 2:30 p.m. Admission for this event will be $5.
Evansville will be inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse on Wednesday, March 26 to face USI. Match time is 6 p.m. and admission will be $7. Proceeds from ticket sales go directly to the UE volleyball program. Two matches are on the schedule on Saturday, March 29 when the Aces travel to Bowling Green, Ky. After facing Bellarmine at 2 p.m., UE faces Western Kentucky at 3 p.m.
In its final spring match, UE will travel across town to face USI inside Liberty Arena on Tuesday, April 15. That match is set to begin at 6 p.m.
“I’m thrilled that the community will have a chance to see their new-look Aces Volleyball team in the friendly confines of Meeks Family Fieldhouse this spring,” Weinberg added. “I believe our fans are going to be incredibly proud of the work these student-athletes have put in so far this spring, and they get their chance to see what we’ve been doing up close and personal! I hope everyone will join us for a night of fun, competition, and great volleyball. I can’t wait to meet all of our fans on March 26th in Meeks!”
