EVANSVILLE, Ind. – For the first time since February 19, the University of Evansville softball team will be at Tri-State Orthopaedics Field at James & Dorothy Cooper Stadium on Wednesday when the Purple Aces welcome Lindenwood for a doubleheader.
Game one is set for a 3 p.m. first pitch with the second contest to begin 30 minutes following the completion of the first contest.
Evansville is coming off a 4-game weekend in Charleston, S.C. where they took part in the Low Country Classic. Jess Willsey batted .500 with seven hits in 14 at-bats over the course of the weekend.  She recorded a home run and two RBI on the weekend while reaching base 53.3% of the time.
Abby Bode batted .500 with three hits in six at-bats, but her offense did not stop there in the weekend trip to Charleston. Bode added three walks and a sac fly to finish with an on-base tally of .600. Hannah Hood also finished the trip with an average over .400. Picking up five hits in 12 at-bats, Hood batted .417 while reaching base 50% of the time.
Lindenwood comes into Wednesday’s doubleheader with an even 9-9 record on the strength of a 6-game win streak. In their weekend home tournament, they took two games apiece from Bellarmine and Green Bay.
