UE Golf Teams Head To Tennessee to play at Tennessee Tech
 EVANSVILLE, Ind. – A new format will be in place as the University of Evansville golf squads head to Sevierville, Tenn. for the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate this weekend.
For the first time, three rounds will be played at the event with one round being played each day from Sunday through Tuesday. The women begin each day with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start while the men start at 10 a.m. each day.
The women’s field includes: Austin Peay, Carson Newman, Evansville, Florida Atlantic, Oakland, Radford, Southern Miss, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, UNC Greensboro, Western Illinois and Youngstown State. Playing on the men’s side will be: Austin Peay, Carson Newman, Evansville, Jacksonville State, Murray State, Oakland, Samford, Southern Illinois, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, UT Martin (individuals only), Western Kentucky and Wright State.
Both teams are coming off of strong Spring Break trips to Jacksonville, Fla. Rick Voyvodic paced the men in the Bulldog Florida Invitational. The reigning Missouri Valley Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week recorded a 1-under 71 in the final round to clinch the top spot in the tournament. His efforts also helped the Purple Aces finish second as a team.
Tyler Gray came home in a tie for 10th place in the tournament while Will Knights placed in a tie for 17th.
Kayla Katterhenry had a great week in Florida for UE. After winning the Don Benbow Invitational, Katterhenry recorded a second place finish at the Bulldog Florida Invitational. Katterhenry’s efforts saw her earn MVC Women’s Golfer of the Week honors on March 9 while being named the MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week on March 15.
Evansville claimed a second place finish in the Don Benbow Invitational in a total team effort that saw three players finish in the top 14. Katterhenry took the win while freshman Madison Chaney came in 7th, posting a team-low 74. Giulia Mallmann finished in 14th.
