Evansville Police were called to the 400 block of Colonial Drive just after 1:00 Monday morning for a report of two people trying to get into parked cars.
Officers were already in the area due to other recent cases of theft from cars and were able to quickly locate the suspects. One of the suspects was taken into custody immediately, but the other suspect ran from officers. He was caught a few minutes later.
Both suspects were in possession of numerous items taken from several cars. Officers were able to return many of the items to the owners.
The suspects were 17 and 15 years old. They were both placed at the Youth Care Center. They both face theft charges.
The investigation into the prior thefts is ongoing. Investigators are trying to determine if the two suspects in these cases are connected to the other cases.
