TOBY MAC KEPT THE CROWD ON ITS FEET ALL EVENING
by Jim Staley-CCO Entertainment WriterÂ
Toby Mac came back to the Aiken Theater at the Old National Events Plaza in a big way on Wednesday night.
Cochren & Company with Michael Cochren, a Southern Indiana native, got the crowd ready for Toby Mac’s opening set. The group did an excellent job of warming up the crowd.
Throughout the show, the six-time Contemporary Grammy Gospel Award winner Toby Mac would talk about Christianity and his life experiences. At one point he shared the heartbreaking story about losing a child.
Toby Mac and DiverseCity band were outstanding, playing hit after hit including “Me Without Youâ€, “Steal My Showâ€, “Lose My Soulâ€, “Lights Shine Bright†and many more. Female vocalist Nirva Dorsaint’s lead and backup vocals filled the entire venue.Â
Instrumentally the band was extremely tight and energy flowed from the stage to the crowd as the main players kept moving and dancing all night long. Throughout the entire evening, the near-capacity crowd stood, singing, cheering, giving praise, and dancing. The message and the energy of Toby Mac and his band along with the outstanding sound and lighting made it an incredible show to watch.
After almost 2 years of Covid 19 challenges, the Old National Events Plaza is finally back. We thank the ONEP mamagement and staff for providing the patrons that attended this concert with an immaculately clean facility, great food, professionally trained, and friendly staff.  We give them two thumbs up for a job well done.
It was a night to remember.
