July 1st at approximately 7:40p South Sector Patrol Officers responded to 840 Jackson Avenue regarding a child bitten by a dog. The first arriving officer saw a small, male child being held by a teenager on the porch two houses to the west of 840 Jackson Avenue. The child was found to be three years old. The teenager was later identified as the the babysitter for the three year old. The three year old child had a large laceration on the right side of his face from near his ear to his jaw and the skin was laying open. The child also had an injury to his lower right arm that appeared to be a broken bone just above his wrist.
The Evansville Fire Department (E.F.D.) and American Medical Response (A.M.R.) arrived and rendered medical aid to the child. The child was transported to St. Mary`s Medical Center by A.M.R. His mother was already there due to an unrelated medical issue. Detectives and Crime Scene also responded to the scene. Evansville Animal Control arrived and took custody of the dog.
What breed of dog was it ?
I’ll give you one guess…
