Aces are in 4th place

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Mallory Russell, Allison Enchelmayer and Kate Petrova carded scores of 78 to lead the University of Evansville women’s golf team in Monday’s opening round of the Braun Intercollegiate at Oak Meadow Country Club.
UE’s trio rank in a tie for 9th place in the individual standings and their efforts have the Purple Aces in 4th place entering Tuesday’s final round. Their scores finished at six over par. Magdalena Borisova wrapped up the day with a 79 and ranks in a tie for 17th place while Carly Frazier scored an 83 and is tied for 35th place.
Four individuals also represented the UE squad. Alyssa McMinn led that group with an 82 and is tied for 31st. Sitting in a tie for 41st is Caitlin O’Donnell. Her opening round finished at 84. Destynie Sheridan totaled 87 strokes in the first 18 holes while Grace Vandenburg tallied a 103.
Austin Peay holds the team and individual lead entering the final 18. The Governors’ team score checked in at a 305, which paces UIC by four strokes. Bellarmine is in third with a 312 while the Aces are fourth with a 313. Taylor Dedmen of APSU paces the individuals with an even score of 72. Megan Tang of UIS is in second with a 73.
With the weather in the forecast for Tuesday, the final round has been pushed up one hour to a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
