Thompkins Middle School will celebrate reading this Friday with a special assembly in honor of Read Across America Day. The event will advocate the importance of education and reading, while also celebrating the achievements of individual student’s successes in both the classroom and extra-curricular activities. In addition, the Evansville Aces Basketball team will be making an appearance as featured guests.

Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program in honor of Dr. Suess. Read Across American Day is celebrated nationally on March 2.Â
