Ten EVSC Administrators Receive Six Sigma Black Belt

Ten Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation administrators have earned their Black Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma.

Those individuals are:
Stacy Mauser, chief technology officer
Mike Raisor, executive director for operational excellence
Mark Thompson, operations analyst
Heather Wilson, assistant to the superintendent/professional development coordinator
Mike Mentzel, director of transportation
Carl Underwood, principal, Vogel Elementary
Jason Woebkenberg, principal, Hebron Elementary
Rick Cameron, chief operating officer
David Smith, superintendent
Pat Tuley, chief financial officer and chief human resources officer

These individuals earned the certification as part of their pursuit to attain the Master’s of Business Operational Excellence degree from The Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. They began the program last January and expect to have completed it by December 2011.
Operational excellence is a philosophy of leadership, teamwork and problem solving resulting in continuous improvement throughout the organization by focusing on the needs of the customer, empowering employees, and optimizing existing activities in the process.

  1. six sigma ,,,no you guys are not that good to achieve 6 sigma your allowed to make about 1 mistake in a million trys…….evsc makes the wrong ,sneagal mistakes 90% of the time

  2. Congratulations to all of the new Lean certified administrators! Lean is a terrific operations management system–you should see results in no time. The key is pushing it out to the front line staff.
