The
Indiana Task Force on Public Defense is working to improve services offered throughout the state. Public defenders are appointed by the courts to provide assistance in criminal proceedings and representation at hearings and to conduct investigations on behalf of clients who are unable to afford an attorney.
To improve the public defense system, this task force is seeking input and holding meetings throughout the state. Comments can be left online by clicking here, or you can attend a local meeting from 5-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, at the Vanderburgh County Public Library.
