State Comptroller Reports First Year Accomplishments
Service milestones reached at the Statehouse

STATEHOUSE — State Comptroller Elise Nieshalla marked her first year in office this week by reflecting on the accomplishments of 2024.

“Serving the great State of Indiana is a profound honor, and I am pleased to report highlights my team and I have accomplished so far for Hoosier taxpayers,” said Comptroller Nieshalla.

Below are achievements announced by Comptroller Nieshalla this year:

• Leads Effort Seeking “Day One” Action from Congress on National Debt
• Announces Deferred Compensation Plan Divestment from China and ESG fund
• Fights for Accounting Principles to be Upheld
• Attorney General Todd Rokita & Comptroller Elise Nieshalla Tell IU’s Kinsey Institute to Follow State Law
• Announces FY 2024 Closes with Nearly $2.6B in State Reserves
• Highlights Indiana’s Financial Health
• Establishes State Comptroller’s Roundtable
• Supports Israeli Investment

“I’m at your service, Indiana, and we are fortunate to be in a strong financial position – with balanced budgets, healthy cash reserves, low debt, well-funded pensions and a AAA credit rating,” commented Comptroller Nieshalla. “With the budget session of the General Assembly about to commence, our office is at the ready to provide fiscal reports to help inform decision making.”
