This Spring Break is th perfect opportunity for your kids to EXPLORE Wesselman Woods! Our hours next week are Monday-Friday 9 am-5 pm; Saturday 10 am-5 pm; and Sunday 12-5 pm.  All week, we have a whole schedule jam packed with fun activities for kids of all ages. All of these programs are included with Nature Center admission. Some of these programs are limited on participants, so we ask that you register in advance by emailing Gena Garrett at ggarrett@wesselmannaturesociety.org
LAST CALL for Spring Break Mini Camp! The deadline to register your 4-6 year old is March 22. Join WNS naturalists for a week of half-day camp during Spring Break. Nature Discovery Camp runs 9 AM – 12 PM, March 27-31. Campers will explore the grounds of Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve with camp staff, play outside, meet animal friends, participate in hands-on experiments and crafts, and have a morning snack. Weather permitting, campers will ride the WNS bus to Howell Wetlands on Wednesday morning.
Start off April Fools Day with Naturalist Kristine as she leads you on a (not) factual hike through the Nature Preserve on Saturday, April 1 at 9 am. This hike will last 45 minutes to 1 hour (depending upon how many times we need to play possum when the moose walks by). This hike is family friendly and perfect for all ages. Space is limited for this hike and you must register in advance using the link below.
Celebrate the maple sugar harvest from the trees of Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve at our 39th Annual Maple Sugarbush Festival! Bring the family to enjoy a hearty breakfast, including sausage, all-you-can-eat pancakes with pure maple syrup, and juice, milk, and/or coffee. After breakfast, families can take a guided tour through the woods to observe how sap is harvested from the sugar maple trees, and then visit the sugar shack to witness the process of boiling the sap into pure, delicious maple syrup. Family-friendly activities add to the festivities. Maple confections will be for sale as well. We welcome you to join us for this local tradition of discovery and fun in the Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve!
Advance tickets are recommended. Those that arrive without advance purchased tickets may have to wait to be seated.
Our 2017 Summer Camps are now enrolling! We offer half day mini camps for ages 4-6 and full day camps for ages 6-13. Each camp is designed for a week of learning and adventure to get kids outside exploring and having fun!
NEW THIS YEAR – Summer Camp for Grown-ups!  Why should kids have all the fun? Recapture the fun of summers past with our first-ever camp program for adults! Grown-ups will enjoy the best nature activities from our kid camps, including hikes, outdoor games, and animal encounters. For ages 21+. Choose a daytime or evening option. Both sessions include a closing bonfire on Friday evening.
