The Southern Indiana Reading Series will host a virtual reading event with poet Phillip B. Williams and novelist Jessamine Chan at 6 p.m. Thursday, November 11. Chartier to present on scientific trust, large-scale psychology studies for Community of Scholars
The University of Southern Indiana College of Liberal Arts will host Dr. Christopher Chartier, Associate Professor of Psychology at Ashland University, as the speaker for its annual Community of Scholars presentation on Tuesday, November 16.
Each fall, the College of Liberal Arts engages a speaker for the Community of Scholars presentation aimed at drawing attention to one or more of the disciplines within the liberal arts, to appeal to the general public and to faculty and students by illustrating high intellectual achievement.

McCutchan Art Center/Pace Galleries to host two exhibitions, -RHIZA and the 2021 Senior Seminar Exhibition
The McCutchan Art Center/Pace Galleries is excited to present two exhibitions to complete the Fall Semester, -RHIZA, an installation of experimental works by alumna Katherine Watts, and the 2021 Senior Seminar Exhibition. The exhibition will be displayed from October 18 through December 10. Gallery hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.

USI Trustees approve new Doctor of Occupational Therapy, Educational Specialist programs
At its regular meeting on Thursday, November 4, the University of Southern Indiana Board of Trustees approved two new graduate programs, including a Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program that will be the third doctoral program offered by the University.

USI and Historic New Harmony host traveling Smithsonian exhibit and programming highlighting Water/Ways
USI’s Historic New Harmony will host the Smithsonian-curated traveling exhibit called Water/Ways at the Atheneum Saturday, October 2 through Sunday, November 14. The exhibit will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. In partnership with The Nature Conservancy and the USGS Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana (OKI) Water Science Center, Historic New Harmony also developed two permanent waysides to be installed on the Atheneum grounds, detailing both the history of the Wabash and the importance of conservation of the river for both people and wildlife.
