Shooting Investigation 3100 blk E Riverside Dr.

 On August 23rd, around 6:00 p.m., Evansville Police Officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of E Riverside Dr. in reference to shots fired. When officers arrived, they found an adult female victim laying in the backyard of a residence. She had a gunshot wound to her ankle, was conscious, and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. 

The victim told officers that her ex-boyfriend was the suspect and he was inside of the residence. The victim had met with the suspect at the residence to speak with him but they began to argue. She said that the suspect had a gun and pointed it at her head. He fired off a round next to her face, but did not strike her. He then pointed the gun towards her foot and shot her in the ankle. 

Officers located the suspect inside the residence with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The suspect was conscious and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Once the suspect is medically released from the hospital, he will be arrested and his name will be released. He will be facing charges including Domestic Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon.Â
