 On Friday, March 26th, around 8:00 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of Fielding Court Apartments reference shots fired. Officers arrived and were directed to an apartment and found a male with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. While attempting to provide medical care to the victim, a witness began interfering with officers and was detained.Â
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The witness was transported to EPD headquarters to be interviewed and was later arrested on outstanding warrants unrelated to this incident. A search warrant was applied for and granted for the apartment the victim was located in. During the course of the investigation, it became apparent the shooting was self-inflicted.Â
