Shooting 315 Taylor Ave.

2

On April 17, around 1:15 a.m., Evansville Police Officers heard multiple gunshots being fired from the area of 315 Taylor Ave. As officers were arriving in the area, central dispatch advised that there were several calls about multiple shots being fired in that same area.

When officers arrived, several vehicles were leaving the area and people were running and screaming that someone had been shot. One of the subjects on scene showed officers where the victim was located, in the 1400 block of Judson. Officers observed a white Honda CRV that had knocked over a fence and was wrecked into two houses. Inside the vehicle, the victim was located with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the head.

Officers began rendering aid to the victim and additional officers began to deal with crowd control. A crime scene was established and several additional officers were called to keep the crowd back, as this all stemmed from a birthday party being held at 315 Taylor Ave.

While canvassing the scene, approximately 50+ shell casings were located throughout the 1400 and 1500 block of Judson along with several in the 200 and 300 block of Taylor. There were at least 3 different caliber guns involved.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where his condition in not known at this time. Officers on scene received little to no assistance on a potential suspect and no one has been arrested for the shooting at this time.

Anyone who has information on this case is asked to call the Evansville Police Department’s Detective Office at 812-436-7979, or call the We Tip Line at 1-800-78-CRIME.

  1. Why is it when there is an officer involved shooting everyone within six blocks with a cell phone has a video of it and is everywhere on social media. With this shooting 100 or so people were there and nobody seen anything.
