The Tri-State Genealogical Society will have a brief business meeting followed by our program:

TSGS has announced that the program will feature Retired USI Professor Larry Goss. He will lead a discussion “Traveling at 33 RPM in an IPad world.” That single phrase describes the situation we as an organization and as individuals find ourselves. The technological changes that have occurred in storage technology, computing, and archiving in general are forcing us to migrate our methods for genealogical research and communication away from a heavy reliance on print media toward the faster (and cheaper) methods of storage and distribution that are becoming commonplace with the use of smart phones, androids, iPads, and digital readers. His discussion will focus on using Digital technology to the advantage of TSGS. Ask him questions… so you will understand the full impact of what changes digital publishing, archiving, etc. will mean in financial changes and all of the other benefits. Mark this date & time in your calendar!

This is a program you don’t want to miss. The time has come for us to take full advantage of all the computer age has to offer. Looking forward to a big crowd so we can learn together what changes need to be made for the growth and future of our society. We will be looking forward to seeing you at the meeting and enjoying a very interesting and informative program.

You do not have to be a member to come and participate at the society’s monthly meetings (except, no meetings in July and August).

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This time of the year, weather conditions may cause the society to cancel meetings… the decision to cancel usually is determined the day of the meeting, providing short notice. Since a bad weather system may develop later in the day (or that night), check our blog (http://tsgsblog.blogspot.com/) for cancellation notice or call Willard Library (812-425-4309).
