  1. Mayor Winnecke is presiding over a City budget that year after year runs deficits with zero intention of addressing the debt and continued

    The IIT editorial column writer? And CCO posters like Pressanykey and JoeBiden? They attack Winnecke mercilessly because of it.

    Donald Trump is doing the same damn thing right now. It’s budget time. Debt is being piled on again. And NO WHERE is Trump, or any of his supporters talking about reducing the deficit or debt.

    It’s hard to believe anyone in here who complains about Winnecke and Councils lack of budget discipline…..they are hypocrites. Or they would have the same standard for Trump on the current budget.

    But they don’t. It’s pure hypocrisy.

    • First, this site is the “City-County Observer” not the Federal Government Observer. Hence a great focal point toward Winnecke.

      Second, if this will make you happier (doubt it since it reflects someone other than Trump), “How much the debt increased during Obama’s two terms. On January 20, 2009, when he was sworn in, the debt was $10.626 trillion. On January 20, 2017, it was $19.947 trillion.”

      • Schmidt is 100% correct of course.

        I notice Pressanykey agrees with Schmidt. Otto, in fact, you do too. You just point out Trump and Obama like debt and deficits too.

      • First Otto, when it’s the Readers Forum, I would think that encompasses anything and everything the participants of this forum can imagine.

        But as Mop Head would say, “Some people say that, that’s what I hear some people say”.

        BUT! When it comes to the national debt, you get me and my old bro al sharpie’s attention. Or at least mine. Was his up until last January.

        You see Otto, you complain about the debt, but you voted for someone who in his Great Plan for America, stated this is what he had in mind;

        “The scale of Trump’s budgetary ambitions was truly unprecedented. At one point, the Committee for a Responsible Budget estimated that Donald Trump’s budget would add $11.5 trillion to the national debt, more than double his closest rival in the Republican primary. To put that number into perspective, the Bush tax cuts—the largest in history up to that point—cost $2.8 trillion over ten years.”

        Ran on it Otto.

        So please, rant and rave about Obama walking in on naked teen age girls and Obama claiming Lying Ted’s pappy helped kill JFK, BUT, never try to make the argument that Mop Head isn’t going to destroy you to make sure his family will not pay any inheritance tax.

        Because you would be mistaken.

        Believe me….

  2. Yes, the national debt keeps rising. The difference, the city of Evansville does not have the ability to increase their debt. When the mayor and clowncil overspend, they become flat broke!!!

  3. uranium one………….russia……….mueller………..clinton………….barry hussein……….TREASON……………
