          • Saw that picture of your mom, she’s a nice looking lady. In a strange irony there is a nice picture of a 1949 Studebaker showroom on West Franklin in the same issue.

            It has been good for her. She has gained weight, made friends, and we were in the pet parade.
            Another family tid-bit. A brother of m niece that died developed the same cancer. The caught in time then began testing the others for the gene. Another nephew and niece was found to have it. The all had their stomachs removed and found stage 1 cancer in the niece and nephew.

            Saw the Studebaker also. It’s a sign from God that Trump will win.

          • You’d mentioned the nephew a while back. I was just wondering how that was coming out the other day. It looks like things are looking up in that department.

        I think the 538 needs a discerning reader in that it polls likelihood of winning not popularity. 9% does not mean his popularity is 9%.

        But on the other hand Trump is facing a 91% grade slope to climb to the White House. He might have a better chance of climbing the Trump Tower in tennis shoes than scaling the the electoral college.

      • Does everyone actually tell the pollsters the truth. Or do you screw with them like some people do and tell them you are going to vote for Donald Duck? There is no way I’m going to tell a complete stranger over the phone who I am going to vote for. No way. I’m not required to show anyone my ballot before or while I’m voting and I never will do that. Which is why the only poll that really matters is the election. The rest of just for the pundits and the professional pollsters.

        Beside no one can figure out the true population and then properly chose subjects of that true population at random to get a valid result. Now if everyone that is actually registered were required to give the pollsters their home phone number and they answered the phone every time a pollster called them and answered truthfully as to who they might vote for it still may not be accurate. What if something happens and they can’t get to the polls and vote. And a lot of people don’t use land mine phones these days and would not give a complete stranger their cell phone number. And even if someone is registered to vote it doesn’t mean that they will actually vote. That’s the problem with all these polls. The true population changes all the time and can’t be pinned down. You may be sampling from the wrong true population and thus skewing the prediction being made by the samples statistics.

        • Sometimes people lie to pollsters, and we humans sometimes change our minds, as well. That is one of many reasons why polls are sometimes wrong. This election cycle is especially dicey, because it is travelling uncharted territory. I like the two sites I have been posting links to because, as someone who has designed and conducted political polls, they both take numerous polls into account to reach their forecasts. That being said, they are scientifically based predictions and no one claims the polls are absolute fact. I won’t breathe a sigh of relief until I see election night results that verify today’s predictions. I think Nate Silver’s method of ranking the various polls.           • I wish that Nov 8th was already here and gone and we would know who won the election. Or according to Donald the election is on Nov 28th. 🙂 Don’t forget to vote.

            I agree with elkaybee. Some polls are better than others. The more people you call and question that are actually going to go vote the way they say they will in the poll the more accurate the outcome will be.

  4. Sharing an article our friend Joe Wallace shared on his FB page. It is perhaps the best article and least biased examination of the dynamics behind this election.

    Of course some will want to continue seeing Trump supporters as irredeemable deplaorablles with all the *ist Hillary assigned to us. But reasonable people will find it an island of reason and understanding in in the midst of typhoon Trump and hurricane Hillary.

    • Trump and reasonable are oxymoron’s. I can’t trust any thing that Donald says he will do. First he can’t even get the Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan GOP, to like or work with him. So if he can’t get his own speaker to work with him how can he get any thing done if he were the President. Remember what Obama tried to do and failed because of the obstructionist GOP Congress. So Donald has already dug his own grave before the election starts.

      Trump is so wishy washy that no one knows for sure what he would do. He would like to think that he could be a dictator as he was in his own business. But our government doesn’t work that way. Trump would be so frustrated as President that he might just implode when he didn’t get his way the first time he proposed some thing.

      And I doubt that he will get many women votes as his attitude towards women is being outed and it’s terrible.

      There is no reasoning with Donald Trump. He’s never been reasonable. Is it reasonable to think that one can group strange women and get by with it because you are a big money man with lawyers to sue your accusers?

      • As I said, some will continue to see what the want to see past any reasonable observation.

        Some suspect that it was republicans and perhaps Ryan who released the infamous tape. I suspect that could be true. It goes back to Hillary private vs public philosophy. In public these RINO’s scold her but in private they support her.

        After her history of scandals and what she did in your primary but your still comfortable with her, reason is not part of the equation

        • You do remember, that in order to remove Ted Cruz from competition in the Primary, Donald Trump accused his Father of killing John F. Kennedy….right I-E?

          Give me a break. You know its there is NO rationalization above anyone when James Dobson accepts and promotes that Donald Trump has accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and is a born-again Christian. (While listening to Trump discuss his daughter Ivanka’s breasts.)

        • Hillary has NO scandals. They were all made up by the GOP. Bengazi and the Emails were not scandals at all. Hillary was not in charge of the Defense Dept and the defense department was responsible for protecting our diplomats around the world. So anyone who blames the Secretary of State for the Benghazi attack is wrong. So that was not Hillary’s fault at all.

          And the email thing is a little thing. No classified materials were lost and no one was injured or killed because of her email server. In fact the US Government Servers are hacked more often that Hillary’s private server was. There was or is no evidence of anyone hacking Hillary’s private emails.

          So your history of scandals is null and void to most people who don’t watch fox new and listen to the Right Wing Propaganda. I don’t watch Fox News. I might see if for 20 seconds while switching channels but I never focus on that station or the type of bs that they try to sell the public. Nor do I listen to the AM talk Radio at all. Heck I can’t even get AM radio stations in my house. My wiring is interfering with my AM radio reception in this house.

          So when the Right talks about Hillary’s scandals I don’t hear them at all. There are no scandals, just attacks on Hillary from the extreme right wing of the GOP party. And most of those are from places that Press would use to post in here.

          The only thing that I don’t like about HIllary is that she will try to ban AR15 rifles and make them illegal to possess. Other than that one issue I like almost everything that Hillary wants to do. She is strong on the military but won’t get us into a bunch of shooting wars unless it’s absolutely necessary. She will protect us from pollution and help fix the global warming issue. And she will help the Alternative Energy Companies get going. We need that immediately. We need more clean energy and less coal burning. We can’t get rid of coal totally as we need it on rainy days when solar can’t work. But we can reduce the amount of coal we burn and increase the amount of power produced by wind, solar and hydro as much as possible. We need to move to hydrogen fuel cells and solar charging stations through out this country as soon as possible. By going to fuel cell technology we can clean up the air and stop polluting the earth. Fuel Cells are already being used to propel submarines and cars in other countries.
          And as Al Gore Said yesterday going to more solar and other type of alternative energy will create thousands of new good paying jobs.

  5. I have seen several articles from Europe stating that Russia is calling its expats and their families back to the “Motherland” for safety purposes. I haven’t seen this in any US based story yet. Could this be a precursor to some military action in Syria or is Putin fearing backlash against Russians for other reasons.

    The Dow is at its lowest point since July this morning. Hasn’t been under 18,000 in a while. I am thinking of sticking a toe back in the water after being out since a big win on Brexit. What are some good stocks to own if Hillary wins? If I thought though Trump had a chance Peabody Energy at $1.63 would be a no brainier.

Even though it has been well documented now that Hillary Clinton is the favorite of the lamestream media, she will not be able to keep a lid on the Wikileaks email revelations, as we have seen again today. Today her numbers are heading back down while Donald Trump’s numbers are heading upwards. By the time Wikileaks publishes all the relevant emails Donald Trump’s lead will be massive, it probably is already. Did Hillary really think that she was powerful enough to control the ALL the media in an effort to keep the REAL Hillary Clinton hidden from the public? Only a person with very outsized ego and a false sense of entitlement would attempt to fool the entire American public! In the next 26 day she will reap what she has sown as the American public becomes more aware of just who Hillary Clinton really is.

  11. Okay, here it is from a US news agency, if you can call CNN a news agency. The Russians have called their people home, deployed nuclear capability at their borders in violation of some treaty, and blamed all of this on American aggression. I think it is time for some cool heads to sit down and diffuse this situation. Who is to be trusted to take the baton from President Obama who may have fanned these flames? Neither of the candidates for president will be trusted or respected by Putin. What hath we wrought?

      The world is in serious crisis from the abject world wide failures of the Obama/Hillary administration, and Obama is now busy mandating gender reassignment surgery for the US military.

    • Joe you probably saw how Donald Threw his temper tantrums today after all the news about him and his past exploits. What if Putin called him a bad name and Donald was sitting in the White House? I can just see Trump escalating the tough talk and moving nuclear missiles back next to the Russian Boarder and stirring the pot until Putin breaks and starts WWIII.

      Mean while the Iranians are firing surface to surface missiles at our US Navy Destroyers in the Red Sea. Lucky for the Sailor on those US Navy Ships they have defensive missiles and counter measure and we didn’t have another USS Stark Incident. Now I’m reading that the Iran has move two of it’s naval ships into the same area. There is also a Chinese War ship and a Russian War ship in the general area. This is the entrance area for the Suez Canal form the Indian Ocean into the Med. I’m sure that the US have some impressive naval and air assets in this area too. We already took out the three radars that were used by the Iranians in Yemen to guide those silkworm type missiles at our naval ships. They won’t be using those radars anymore against our ships in the Red Sea now. Obama doesn’t mess around. He took his time and then assessed the situation and then responded appropriately. What would Trump do?

    RUSH:  The Clinton campaign, the Clinton organization leads corruption and destruction on practically everything it touches.  There is now a roiling controversy inside the FBI.  It is amazing.  And folks, I know some former very powerful people in the FBI, and I can confirm for you what you are seeing in the media. 
    Joe diGenova said on the radio in Washington yesterday that he knows people inside the FBI that are fit to be tied and are now calling James Comey a crook.  They’re openly — not for attribution, but they’re calling him a crook. They’re wondering what the Clintons have on him. They think that this investigation into her emails was unprecedentedly botched, and it was botched on purpose.
     
    And the whole reputation of the FBI has now been sullied forever because, once again, the Clintons have come in contact with it, people wondering, “What in the world do the Clintons have on Comey?” 
    And I know some former high-ranking FBI people.  I can tell you this is true, what people are saying inside.  Agents, current agents and former agents, are just distressed as they can be.  And now you’ve got the Clintons blaming the Russians for what’s on these emails, and that’s dangerous, folks.
