So Owensboro is considering a new arena for $25 Million. This will mean they got two downtown hotels and an arena for $25 Million.
Why the heck did Evansville spend $200 Million for an arena and one hotel? Who is the best shopper?
Joe:
Look at pages: 13, 14, and 15 of of this latest CAFR for Owensboro. These figures are for a city with a population of 58,374 (2015 Census). It seems to me that Evansville and Owensboro have taken leave of their senses when it comes to controlling debt.

You are so astute, Joe. And, the costs are rising…
After reading the bills passes this legislative session in Indiana, I am embarrassed. Many of them are 1950s regressive and highlight the sad state of Indiana. At age 67 I think I need to stop fighting and just have all of the idiots in the US come live in Indiana and everyone else can move on. At least that way, these jerks and idiots will all be somewhat isolated and can do less harm. The examples abound but for starters check out the canned hunting and the abortion bills. And I don’t even have the time to read all of the nonsense. They did stop the okay on coyote and fox penning although they still allow rabbit pens. Whoa, what about Senator and Rep pens? “Life is a tale told by an idiot full of sound and fury signifying nothing.” Macbeth To which I would add “in Indiana”

There is always hope:

Pour a glass of your favorite beverage and go outside and soak up some of this glorious sunshine, and take heart in the fact that idiots are in the minority, else we would all be dead by now.
Thanks Press but nice try. We are having our own personal struggles with the city and county now as well so minimally we will need to leave Vanderburgh Co. if we wish to live as planned in our retirement. Other issues include but are not limited to my spouses health problems now and my frustration with attempting to finalize his business in Evansville. In short life is frustrating and overwhelming. I do not have time to sit out in the sun. Finding time to breathe is an issue. And then there is the air pollution in this area. We have both always worked hard usually 6 days a week; many times more. And now when we would have time to serve our community and to do other things for ourselves, pretty much most things we believe in are mocked and stepped on by local and state government. You are correct that idiots are in the minority but it takes so few of them cause a huge mess. And by the way, babies are not my thing so the pic was sort of a non-fit. If you were trying to imply that hope is in the future generations, those young people learn from and gain genetic material from the existing and most reproductive people now. And guess who the most reproductive group is? My spouse is adopted and both his biological and adoptive parents had some issues in common which have caused problems for him his whole life so no, we need to fix now. We cannot say that the future will fix itself. Sorry for unloading on this page but that seems to be what others do. The course of action here seems to be to write about problems but to not organize, and stand up for action. It is the action that will be hard for both of us now and I feel that as a huge huge burden and frustration. In fact, today I have spent all day today on phone calls babying and pushing people who should be taking care of issues so that I can move forward. One problem still is not taken care of after 2 days of nonsense. Incompetency abounds. And now we are back to the idiots aren’t we.
Thanks for letting me unload. You are a good person as are many others here. I wish you luck in fixing what needs fixed and tolerating the rest. But tolerance is not my forte at this point.
Here’s my babies that I feed every night;

Not a politician in the bunch….
Would love to see your babies but they won’t appear.
Come June I’ll have around 14 kits (baby raccoons) come in my polebarn every night to eat cookies. My wife teaches them to stand up to get fed and do tricks.
They are actually more intelligent than some people I know.
As soon as one walks in wearing a hat saying “Make America Great Again,” I’m going to get me a coon dog….

Regulator,
Your story of baby raccoons made my day. It is a joy to honor nature and all living creatures. It is a shame that so many people prefer to worship money and destroy what is good in life. My mom and I raised 2 infant possums which many people think are ugly and not friendly. Please know that they are just the opposite, especially the females. Opie came when called and was gentle and sweet. Glad I had her in my life. Can say that about very few people. Enjoy your spring friends. Can I send you some cookies for them?
I’m good on the cookies Martha but thanks anyway.
Here’s 4 kits behind my generator last year;

Later….
Sorry but the pic came through as an error. Could not see the kits. But I will see them in my mind’s eye. Thanks for trying.
Happy Spring!
