Raley named OVC co-Player of the Week
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Women’s Basketball graduate forward Meredith Raley has been named Ohio Valley Conference co-Player of the Week. The league’s communications directors vote upon the OVC’s weekly accolades.
The player of the week award is the first of the season for the Screaming Eagles. Raley also represented USI on the 2024-25 OVC Preseason Players to Watch List after an All-OVC First-Team selection last season.
In three games last week, Raley averaged above 14 points and five rebounds per game to help Southern Indiana to three wins. The forward shot 44 percent from the floor, including four three-pointers.
Raley started last week by nearly posting a double-double in USI’s road win at Murray State University last Tuesday, registering 11 points and nine rebounds. The fifth-year senior added 13 points in 15 minutes against Indiana University Southeast on Friday, cashing in on four shots from the field and going 4-4 at the foul line. In Sunday’s home win against Saint Louis University, Raley dropped a team-high 19 points on 7-12 shooting, including three triples, and pulled down four rebounds.
Through five games this season, Raley paces USI at 14 points per game. The Haubstadt, Indiana native has also grabbed five rebounds per outing and is shooting over 40 percent overall from beyond the arc. Raley has scored 10-plus in all five games this season.
