Chandra Parr of the University of Evansville softball team has been honored by the Missouri Valley Conference, as she was named to the MVC All-Conference First Team.
Parr was named to the MVC’s first team as a play-making outfielder and was one of the Purple Aces best offensive threats throughout the entire 2014 season. The outfielder from Anna, Ill., is the first Evansville player to be named to a conference team since Kayla Fortner and Katie Sears were honored during the 2012 season.
Chandra finished the season playing in 49 games while starting 48 of them, hitting .291 and scoring 26 runs on 41 hits. Parr had 15 extra base hits during the season, including three doubles, two triples and a team leading 10 homeruns. The freshman also had 30 RBIs, 15 walks, seven hit by pitches and four stolen bases. Parr is tied for fourth in the Evansville Single Season Record Book with the 10 homeruns and finished tied for third in the Valley.
