Indiana native Papa John Schnatter and Indiana Pacers’ mascot Boomer made a visit to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health on Thursday, April 17 to celebrate the Indiana Pacers’ commitment to the community and Papa John’s suppport of Indiana’s only nationally ranked and comprehensive children’s hospital.Â
Papa John delivered pizza to Riley Hospital families and staff, visited patients in the Riley Hospital Cancer Center, and took pictures with patients during a Papa John’s Pizza and Indiana Pacers themed-Child Life Party. He then presented a $50,810 check to Riley Children’s Foundation from the Hope Happens Here Meal Deal promotion and surprised the crowd with a matching gift from his personal foundation bringing the total to $101,620.

Riley participates in Battle of the Brave
For the second consecutive year, Riley is participating in the Battle of the Brave sponsored by Speedway. Riley kid Carmen Schleppy will be Riley’s representative in this online voting competition. This year, Speedway will be donating $20,000 to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital whose representative receives the most votes.
