At approximately 8:30 last night, Master Trooper Kevin Waters responded to Fester’s Bar located at 10301 East SR 62, Mt. Vernon, after receiving a report a female customer was inside the bar performing a strip tease.  When Waters arrived he was greeted outside by an employee who informed him the female had left the property. While still outside talking to the employee a truck pulled into the lot. The driver of the truck had attempted to take the woman home, but he brought her back to the bar after she attempted to scratch him and refused to give him directions to her home. When Waters approached the woman he detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. She also appeared to be extremely intoxicated.  She was provided an opportunity to try and call someone to pick her up, but she kept dropping her phone and turning it off and on.  After she attempted to put Trooper Waters in a headlock and continued to yell at the driver that brought her back to the bar, she was arrested.  While inside the patrol car she also kicked the window.  She was taken to the Posey County Jail where she continued to be uncooperative. She is currently being held on bond.

Arrested and Charges:

  • Amber Carter, 34, 2226 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN
  1. Public Intoxication, Class B Misdemeanor
  2. Disorderly Conduct, Class B Misdemeanor

This TV program is extremely informative with lively debate between Co-Hosts Cheryl Musgrave and Mark Owens.  Special guests Lori Sherman and Josh Claybourn also provides excitement to this most interesting program?

Dr. Bucshon Statement on Keystone XL Pipeline Project

0

(WASHINGTON, DC) –Today the U.S. House of Representatives passed approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline project as amended and passed by the U.S. Senate.

Congressman Larry Bucshon, M.D. (IN-08) released the following statement after voting again to approve the pro-energy, pro-jobs, and pro-national security project:

“The State Department’s own report confirms that construction of the Keystone XL pipeline will create over 40,000 American jobs and have minimal impact on the environment,” said Bucshon. “This project is a no-brainer. Over 60 percent of the American people, industry leaders, and union workers support the project. It’s been properly vetted over 6 years and thousands of pages of review by the State Department. It’s passed both chambers of Congress with the support of Democrats and Republicans. The President is the only obstacle in the way of the good-paying jobs and energy security this project will support.  I sincerely hope the President reconsiders his ideological position and signs this bill into law.”

Governor Pence Joins Fellow Governors in Calling on President Obama to Reconsider Keystone XL Pipeline

Indianapolis – Governor Mike Pence today joined 23 other governors from across the nation in calling on President Obama to reconsider his stated decision to veto the Keystone XL pipeline legislation passed by Congress.

The letter states, “We hope you will take into account the will of the vast majority of Americans who support this project, including our constituents, and sign legislation approving the pipeline when it reaches your desk.” The letter in full can be found attached.

“Indiana’s strong manufacturing sector would benefit economically from the approval of the Keystone XL pipeline,” said Governor Pence. “I urge President Obama to reconsider the pipeline as part of an ‘all of the above’ energy strategy and job creator, benefitting Hoosier manufacturers and workers across the nation while contributing to our country’s energy independence.”

In April 2014, Governor Pence sent a letter to President Obama urging him to approve the Keystone XL pipeline.

Working to safeguard Hoosier families

0

Public safety continues one of my top priorities, and I have so much respect for the individuals that keep our communities safe; that respond in case of an emergency. Most likely, at some point, either you or someone you know has been helped or life saved by the heroic actions of a first-responder. We rely on their life-saving training, and I am grateful for their dedication to assisting Hoosiers in need.

Anyone who works in public safety will tell you that training, running drills and preparation can save lives. The more training our first-responder receive, the better they will be able to handle any situation they come across.

Last May, I joined representative Ron Bacon and traveled to Texas to observe three out of the eight days of the Basic Tactical Operation Medical Support Course, hosted by the Cypress Creek Tactical Medic Team in Houston. This international course taught a variety of different training techniques, and we learned all about tactical operation medical support.

The course was geared towards public safety officers and taught them how to respond to active shooter situations, mass casualty situations, meth lab explosions and more. After attending this course, I decided that along with House Enrolled Act (HEA) 1111, which passed last year and dealt with tactical emergency medicine, that further training would be beneficial to first responders in our communities.

House Bill 1197 works in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security and would require them to develop core curriculum requirements and standards for tactical emergency casualty care training programs. This type of training would be designed for first-responders like fire-fighters, police officers and emergency medical technicians and would educate them to better handle a broader range of emergency circumstances.

What these brave men and women see on the job is something I could not imagine, and I am thankful for their actions that work to keep our communities safe. We rely on the efficiency and effectiveness of our public safety officers every day, especially during the winter when car accidents are prevalent and emergency situations happen more frequently.

I am proud to be part of a community which houses some of the best and brightest first responders. My hope, with the passage of this bill, is that we incorporate training that would allow them to be better prepared for more situations, which could potential save someone’s life.

IS IT TRUE February 13, 2015 (Updated)

116

IS IT TRUE that the City of South Bend, Indiana is doing something with borrowed money that is so insane that it makes Evansville look like a Fountain of Knowledge?…we know that is hard to do but this one makes a $10 Million dog park and an $18 Million ballfield complex look frugal and wise?…the City of South Bend is borrowing $25 Million to spend to turn 4 one way streets into two way streets?…once upon a time these were two way streets and good money was spent to turn them into one way streets to stimulate the economy and bring prosperity to local commerce in South Bend?…this time around the reverse is being done to stimulate the economy and bring prosperity to South Bend’s downtown?…this is so incredibly stupid that it should be included in a comedy act?…the only thing Evansville has done to compare with this insanity was a couple of years ago when the direction of Main Street’s one way traffic was changed from east to west to west to east?…that was a $4 Million exercise in futility that was supposed to help the downtown merchants immensely by changing the direction of traffic flow?…Main Street was at one time a two way street, that was changed into a no-way street walkway at a price, which was changed into a one way street at a price, which was changed into the other way street for $4 Million all in the name of a prosperous economy?…we can guess what will be proposed next?…that will be a two-way street at a high price which will magically rain hundred dollar bills on the old downtown area of Evansville?…the is precedent for making such an insane capital expenditure up north in South Bend, Indiana?…this is one case where monkey-see-monkey-do will make any and all supporters look more like Curious George than Albert Einstein?

IS IT TRUE the State of Indiana House Committee has actually given a green light to land based casinos?…of course this like other logical legislation with have to make it through the illogical legislative process known as the government of Indiana?…allowing land based casinos, after the nonsensical digging of a retention pond and deeming it to be a river in French Lick so a casino could pass muster only makes good sense?…it makes more sense because the retention basin nowadays does not retain any water at all?…sometimes one just has to shake one’s head in amazement at the lack of logic exhibited by elected bodies?…while they are hopefully coming to their senses in Indianapolis and giving land based casinos the thumbs up, maybe they will tack on a package store on Sundays provision so people can sit in their rooms and enjoy a beer bought from a local merchant across the street?…sometimes the clock on the courthouse wall really does seem more like a Koo-Koo Clock than it should?

IS IT TRUE three thugs broke into a residence on Morton Avenue just after midnight on Wednesday and demanded money from the resident?…fortunately the victim was not harmed but the mental anguish of having one’s home invaded will remain for many years?…this kind of news, while explaining the harsh reality of life in South Evansville is not the sort of thing that will attract businesses or model citizens to call Evansville home?…it was once asked in a seminar on building attractive cities “what am I homesick for when I am away from home”?…the answer would not include things like robbings, shootings, sewage in the street, dilapidated sidewalks, potholes, and foul smells?…this writers answer to that question would be my kids, some friends, and Turoni’s pizza?

IS IT TRUE according to Chief Deputy Coroner Steve Lockyear the pedestrian struck on Upper Mt. Vernon Road in the early morning hours day before yesterday has died? …Darrell Asbridge, age 58, died at Deaconess Hospital? … an autopsy is scheduled for Saturday at the Vanderburgh County Coroners Office. …the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the victim being struck?

IS IT TRUE there was a heated argument at the most recent Labor Council meeting? …the majority of Labor Council membership wanted to invite all primary candidates to come and make presentations so the Labor Council could do political endorsements? … that the “Union Boss” Jack McNeely stated he didn’t see any reason to have any primary presentations by candidates? …when “Union Boss” Jack McNeely views was voted down he blew up and told the membership he is now an Independent? …all we can say about this is “WOW”?
