IS IT TRUE the Democratic party Chairman, Rob Faulkner during the last 3 weeks have been getting the list of official absentee voting ballots print outs from the Vanderburgh County Clerk office? …Chairman Faulkner e-mailed the official absentee voting ballots names to Mosby, Weaver, Brinkmeyer and Windhorst so they could contact voters before voting absentee? …the CCO confronted Mr. Faulkner about him giving official absentee voting ballots list to only four (4) candidates running in the Democratic primary election?  … Chairman Faulkner admitted to us he was sending the official voters absentee list to Mosby, Weaver, Brinkmeyer and Windhorst but he also said that he will be willing to give the lists to other Democratic primary candidates if they will ask for them?  …the CCO did a followup on this issue and found out that all the candidates running in the upcoming  Democratic primary are now receiving current lists of people being mailed official absentee voting ballot from Chairman Faulkner?

EVSC to Offer Full-Day Summer Childcare

Parents in Evansville and the surrounding area have another option for summer childcare – EVSC Camp Cruisin’. Camp Cruisin’ is a full-day summer childcare program for area students offered at three EVSC school locations:  Hebron, Stringtown and Vogel.

Camp Cruisin’ will operate from May 26 through July 31 from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and is open to any school-aged student in Evansville and the surrounding area.

The program will use a theme each week centered on planned activities, allowing students to utilize their creativity. The program also will utilize community resources, provide educational and enrichment opportunities and much more. Students also will be able to attend various field trips.

The cost for the camp is $90 per week and EVSC students currently attending EVSC Extended Day Centers will have first consideration. Remaining openings will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Registration forms are available in the Extended Day Center Office of each elementary school. A $100 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration.

Riecken Will Appoint Evansville Residents To Act on Evansville Issues

Democratic Mayoral Candidate Gail Riecken believes Evansville residents should hold positions on boards and commissions making regulatory decisions and impacting Evansville residents lives.

“I have every confidence that the nearly 120,000 good citizens of this city have the expertise and passion to make decisions that affect how government conducts business,” she said. “In addition, residents are directly impacted by the actions of the boards and commissions, so they have the best perspective. They have the greatest interest in acting for the good of every resident.”

Riecken made her comments today in the wake of a hearing Thursday before a judicial panel. The judges heard oral arguments on Mayor Lloyd Winnecke’s legal challenge to a proposed city ordinance that would require mayoral appointments be city residents. The judges took the issue under advisement and indicated a ruling would be made soon.

“Regardless of the judges’ decision on the proposed ordinance, I pledge that my appointments will be residents of the City of Evansville,” she said.

She also called attention to the confusion, attorneys’ fees and time spent by the panel of judges that has resulted from Winnecke’s change of heart over the ordinance proposed by the Evansville City Council.

“He was for it before he was against it, and now he’s for it again,” Riecken said. “But he continues to pursue the issue in court. The Mayors lack of ability to make a firm decision has resulted in confusion and legal fees at this point.”

Governor Pence Names Matt Lloyd Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications and Strategy in Governor’s Office

Indianapolis, IN—Indiana Governor Mike Pence announced today the addition of Matt Lloyd to the governor’s office as Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications and Strategy. Lloyd will assume his responsibilities in late May.

Lloyd served as Communications Director on Pence’s congressional staff for 10 years. He served in the top communications role for Pence when he was chairman of the House Republican Conference as well as when he chaired the House Republican Study Committee. He also served as a senior advisor to Pence’s gubernatorial campaign. He currently serves as Director of Communications for Koch Industries in its Washington, D.C., office.

“I am delighted that Matt will be rejoining my staff,” said Pence. “Matt is a person of character whose judgment I value greatly. He will be a tremendous addition to the governor’s office.”

A graduate of the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s in agriculture communications, Lloyd currently lives in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C., with his wife and two children. The family will relocate to Indianapolis at the conclusion of the school year.
