Wanted Felon Arrested after Barricading Apartment
- For the last month the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office had been searching for Mr. Christopher James Norman. Mr. Norman was on probation for Dealing in a Synthetic Drug prior to having his probation revoked in early June. On Thursday, July 16, 2015 at approximately 8:33pm a sheriff’s deputy observed Mr. Norman standing outside an apartment in the 5400 block of Carriage Drive.
The sheriff’s deputy requested additional units respond to the scene, but Mr. Norman entered the residence prior to the arrival of assisting deputies. Sheriff’s deputies knocked on the door of the residence, but no one would answer. A key was obtained, but when the door was unlocked deputies discovered that the occupants had blocked entryway with furniture.

After about an hour, contact was made with Mr. Norman who crawled out the front window of the apartment and surrendered.
