IS IT TRUE when we called on our Veterans “TO ASSEMBLE” to fight wars on our behalf to insure our freedoms they did?  …our Veterans are now are “CALLING US TO ASSEMBLE” on SEPTEMBER 23, 2015 at 5 O’clock at the Veteran Memorial Coliseum to attend a nonpartisan political event inviting all canidates listed on City General Election ballot to speak?  …its time for us to heed the “Call To Assemble”?
IS IT TRUE in the past if your ran for public office the first question that the candidates were ask “ARE YOU A VETERAN”?  …it seems like this is the last question the voters ask today?
IS IT TRUE we wonder why City Council Candidates Tom Shoulders, Â Justin Elpers, Jonathan Weaver, Â Jim Brinkmeyer, Missy Mosby, Dan McGinn hasn’t responded to the invitation to attend the VETERANS hosted event “CALL TO ASSEMBLE”?
IS IT TRUE it’s being alleged that from the day Winnecke walked into the Mayor’s office he filled many positions that were perversely left vacant by  our former Mayor?
IS IT TRUEÂ since City Council has required Mayor Winnecke to be financially accountable, he now is forced to come before the City Council to request a loan from the Riverboat and Rainy Day moneys to the tune of $8 million in order to make City employee payroll?
IS IT TRUE that we hear that DMD Director Kelley Coures recently posted on his personal FACE BOOK Â account that Missy Mosby and Jonathan Weaver are most dedicated City Council members he ever work with? Â …all we can say is “REALLY”?

Discusses City’s Fiscal Management And Priorities For Her Administration
Evansville, IN – Mayoral candidate Gail Riecken hosted two Town Hall meetings, one at North Park Library and one at McCullough Library.  She discussed her background, why she got in the race, the city’s fiscal situation and her priorities as Mayor.
Gail said “I decided to run for Mayor because I had been hearing about how bad the city’s financial situation really was and started looking into it myself. What I saw made me realize it was time for new leadership in Evansville,†said Riecken. She continued, “A Mayor must spend our tax dollars wisely, practice smart fiscal policy and make sure there is an open, transparent budgeting process that produces a city budget that reflects our citizens’ needs and priorities. Frankly, Mayor Winnecke has not done that.â€
Riecken discussed with the crowd what her priorities would be and how she would do things differently than the Mayor. Things like working to cut the debt and make sure we can cover the city’s expenses, stopping tax dollar giveaways, fixing the budget and creating a more transparent government, creating jobs and eliminating blight, providing for police and firefighters, and fixing our sidewalks and roads.
“The next Mayor of Evansville has to set priorities based on the issues that affect the entire city, not just special interests,†said Riecken. “A lack of transparency and wasteful spending has severly deminished our city’s reserves, increased our debts, and is putting our bond rating at risk, hindering our ability to make needed repairs to sidewalks and roads, combat blight and upgrade and replace equipment for our police and firefighters. As Mayor, looking out for the people of Evansville will be my first priority. I will spend every day fighting for the people of Evansville and working to make our wonderful city stronger.â€

Cloran to present on the importance of ideas and failure in fostering entrepreneurship
Entrepreneur Michael Cloran will be this year’s speaker for the University of Southern Indiana Romain College of Business Entrepreneur’s Perspective Speaker Series Monday, September 28 in Carter Hall in University Center West.  His presentation, “Ideas Matter†will be held at 10 a.m., and a second topic, “Failure is a Feature,†at noon.  Both events are free and open to the public.

F.J.Reitz Class of 1960 55th Reunion
On Friday October 2 2015 the Reitz class of 1960 will gather at Howell Shelter House on Barker Avenue for food, fellowship and fun. Â A very nice catered meal will be served at 5:30 pm. Â Sodas, coffee, and water will be provided.
Our Reitz Panthers will be away playing the North Huskies at Bundrant Stadium for those wanting to attend a Panther Football game. Â Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Reitz Athletic Office or at the gate. Transportation is not provided.
On Saturday October 3 2015, the Reitz Class of 1960 will gather at VFW 1114 on Wabash Avenue for our main event. Â The evening will feature a catered meal, soft drinks will be furnished and a Cash Bar will be available. Warren Batts, of the original Bill Haley’s Comets will entertain.

Dr. Bucshon Votes Against Iran Deal
House rejects the Iran nuclear deal, votes to suspend the President’s ability to lift sanctions.
(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Friday, Eighth District Congressman Larry Bucshon released the following statement after voting to oppose the Iran nuclear agreement:

“On the 14th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, we are reminded that the stakes have never been higher in our efforts to protect our nation and allies from the enemies of freedom. Unfortunately, this nuclear agreement negotiated by President Obama and Secretary Kerry fails to make the world a safer place and paves the way to a nuclear Iran. The deal gives Iran $150 billion that even the President has admitted will help fund organizations that kill Americans and allows Iran to acquire intercontinental ballistic missiles that will give the regime long-range firing capacities. Our negotiators gave up these concessions, yet failed to secure the release of four Americans who are still detained in Iran. Not to mention, Congress and the American people still have not received the full agreement, including the secret IAEA side deals. Finally, like most Hoosiers, I cannot trust a regime that publicly chants ‘death to America’, refers to the United States as ‘satan’, and expresses its desire to eliminate Israel in the next 25 years to act in good faith. As a member of Congress who swore an oath to protect the American people, I cannot support this deal.â€
The House rejected (162-269) H.R. 3461, to approve the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, signed at Vienna on July 14, 2015, relating to the nuclear program of Iranand passed H.R. 3460, to suspend until January 21, 2017, the authority of the President to waive, suspend, reduce, provide relief from, or otherwise limit the application of sanctions pursuant to an agreement related to the nuclear program of Iran.
On Thursday, the House passed H. Res. 411, a resolution stating the President has not fully complied with the Iran Nuclear Agreement Act of 2015 by failing to provide Congress with a copy of an agreement between the IAEA and Iran, and that, as a result, the president remains unable to lift statutory sanctions against Iran
