A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words !
This picture was taken at yesterdays “Weaver and Burton” political fundraiser held at a local Pub on the Westside. Â It looks like team “Weaver and Mosby” have some new supporters!
Many supporters of Mayoral candidate Gail Riecken are wondering when will she publicly say something about Weaver and Mosby open support of Mayor Winnecke.  Riecken supporters are waiting for her to show Weaver and Mosby that she has political back bone by demanding that they publicaly declare that they are in support of her or Winnecke.  Her supporters are also are saying if Weaver and Mosby announces they are supporting Winnecke’s for re-election, Mrs. Riecken should demand they resign from the Vanderburgh Democratic party.
GUN CONTROL: EATING STEAK WITH TEASPOONS
Rick McKee / Augusta Chronicle
By Susan Stamper Brown
President Obama told the BBC he’s “stymied†because he’s not gotten his way regarding gun control –yet. So, apparently we should just relinquish our guns during a Second Amendment burning ceremony on the National Lawn.
Obama’s upset more Americans don’t agree with his definition of “common sense†gun control. If Pew Research is correct, a majority of us lean more toward Lt. Col. Allen West’s “index finger†definition whereby individuals should be trusted to call the shots. Pew says the majority of Americans still support gun rights.
Nevertheless, we should submissively fall in line, believing the government will protect us. And crazy people who prey on the innocent in gun free zones like schools, theaters, churches and military facilities will voluntarily lay down their arms, too. Sure.
Of course, we have no reason to protect ourselves from ISIS, although according to the FBI, ISIS-connected young Muslim men are radicalized in all 50 states. Nor would we ever need to protect ourselves against a tyrannical government like those crazy old white men, America’s Founders, wrote about in the Constitution.
Oh, and we’re supposed to believe Obama really wants gun control legislation to be passed the “old-fashioned†way, with Congress making laws, when he’s already cranking out executive orders like a Chinese sweatshop?
Every time there’s a mass shooting, we’re told now is the time to hop on the gun control bandwagon. We’re expected to ditch logic, facts, and common sense — or statistics proving gun control never works. We should overlook irritating facts like lawlessness prevails in places which already have stringent gun laws like in the president’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Or Baltimore, Maryland, which, incidentally, made the “25 Most Violent Places in the World†list in 2013 and 2014, along with Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, Baghdad, Iraq and Mogadishu, Somalia and Muzaffarabad, Pakistan.
I guess we should just chalk it up to coincidence when non-partisan groups like the Institute for Policy Innovation tell us that 16 out of 20 of the U.S. cities with the highest violent crime rates, like Baltimore, are run by Democrats. Must we overlook the possibility that the policies and practices of liberal leaders from the party that booed God during their 2012 convention inspire crazy people of all political leanings to do crazy things? Should we ignore statistics showing despite Maryland’s highly restrictive gun laws, Baltimore’s homicides increased in the first five months of 2015 by 43 percent, and non-fatal shootings by 82.5 percent? When recently asked about the chaotic mess that is Baltimore, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest says more gun laws should help. Help who? Might it be time to address that more laws won’t fix a spiritual problem? People can’t even keep Ten simple Commandments.
Are we really supposed to believe criminals care about regulations? China’s a perfect example because it’s largely illegal for private citizens to own and sell guns. Possession or sale of them leads to anywhere from a 3-year prison term to the death penalty. The Chinese government values human life like Planned Parenthood values babies, therefore, it’s obvious these gun laws are not devised to protect citizens, but the other way around. Even still, crazy people find a way around the rules. As I’ve written before, the same day the Sandy Hook shootings happened, with no guns available, a crazy, knife-wielding Chinese man stabbed almost two dozen kids at a central China elementary school. He did that despite the fact the government had recently banned knives after a spate of deadly knife and cleaver attacks on school kids that left 20 dead and 50 wounded.
Take away guns and crazy people will use knives. Take away knives and they’ll use something else until everyone’s forced to eat steak with teaspoons.

AG Zoeller urges credit freeze in wake of data breach affecting 1.5 million Hoosiers
55 health, radiology centers impacted in hack of electronic records providerÂINDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller is urging all Hoosiers to freeze their credit in the wake of the recent data breach at Fort Wayne-based Medical Informatics Engineering (MIE) and its subsidiary NoMoreClipboard, which may have impacted an estimated 1.5 million Hoosiers and 3.9 million people nationwide. The two companies provide electronic medical record services to healthcare providers and individuals. Information that was breached includes social security numbers, lab results, medical conditions, health plan information and more. The Indiana Attorney General’s Office is investigating the breach and monitoring the situation to ensure that consumers are properly notified. MIE recently disclosed that 11 of its healthcare provider clients and 44 radiology centers were impacted in the breach. Those providers are located in cities across the state including Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Terre Haute, Muncie, LaGrange and others. A list of affected providers can be found here: http://www.mieweb.com/notice/. “We are faced with yet another massive data breach putting countless Hoosiers at risk of identity theft and fraud,†Zoeller said. “People cannot sit back and assume they won’t become a victim of these crimes which are costly, time consuming to fix and can have a long-term impact on your financial stability and credit. Everyone in Indiana should have a credit freeze in place to protect themselves from becoming a victim of identity theft and fraud.†Protect against ID theft Zoeller urges consumers who may have been impacted in this breach or any other breach to take the following immediate steps to guard against identity theft:
Additionally, MIE has said it will offer affected consumers two years of credit monitoring and identity protection services at no cost. Credit monitoring alerts consumers to fraud after the fact, so it’s always best to also have the credit freeze in place to deter fraud, in addition to credit monitoring. Call the MIE hotline at (866) 328-1987 for more information about its credit monitoring. If consumers already have credit monitoring in place from another breach, they might consider adding the MIE monitoring if it would provide a longer coverage period. Consumers should be aware when the free time period ends on their credit monitoring, especially if they would like to cancel, because they will likely be encouraged to purchase the service long-term. Zoeller said the free credit freeze is the best protection against fraud and identity theft, though monitoring can be helpful in identifying fraud. Everyone, regardless of if you believe your data has been compromised, can take the above steps to protect against ID theft. Red flags of ID theft Certain red flags can indicate that identity theft may have occurred, including:
Report ID theft If unusual activity is detected and you believe you are a victim of identity theft, follow the below steps:
Under Indiana’s Disclosure of Security Breach law, businesses with Indiana customers are required to inform customers and the AG’s Office about security breaches that have placed personal information in jeopardy. The AG’s Office investigates data breaches to determine if customers were properly notified of the breach and if the entity had appropriate safeguards in place to protect customers’ data. The breach at Medical Informatics Engineering appears to be one of the largest breaches impacting Indiana consumers this year, and the AG’s investigation is ongoing. More information about the breach is posted on MIE’s website here: http://www.mieweb.com/notice/. MIE has said all impacted clients have been notified. In 2014, nearly 400 data breaches were reported to the Indiana Attorney General’s Office. In 2015 thus far, 279 data breaches have been reported. In 2015, about 730 complaints about identity theft have been reported to the AG’s Office, and 1,300 complaints were reported in 2014. More identity theft protection tips and information on the AG’s Identity Theft Unit can be found at www.IndianaConsumer.com/idtheft. |
