- Members of the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office volunteered to raise money for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign this Saturday. Over 40 sheriff’s deputies, confinement officers and staff manned twelve red kettle locations throughout the city and county today. Members of the U.A. Local 136 Plumbers & Steamfitters union also participated.
- Volunteering on their off time, Sheriff’s Office members have been helping the Salvation Army every December since 2007. Contributions to Salvation Army kettles enable the organization to continue its year-round efforts to help the less fortunate.

VCSO Rings Bells for Red Kettle Campaign
Master Trooper Ryan Wilson is Reassigned as Detective
Earlier today, Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter transferred Master Trooper Ryan Wilson to Field Investigations to serve as a detective at the Evansville Post.
Wilson is a native of Boonville and a 1990 graduate of Boonville High School. He later attended Murray State where he received a degree in Criminal Justice. Wilson was employed as a Warrick County Sheriff’s Deputy from January 1995 to April 1999 before joining the Indiana State Police. He graduated from the Indiana State Police Academy in June 2000 and was assigned to the Terre Haute District. Wilson transferred to Evansville in October 2001 where he primarily patrolled Warrick County until his recent reassignment to Field Investigations. Wilson will primarily investigate crimes in Warrick and Vanderburgh Counties.
Attorney admission fees increasing in Southern District

Beginning Jan. 1, the attorney admission to practice fee and the pro hac vice motion fee will increase in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
The attorney admission to practice fee will increase from $186 to $226. Of this, $176 will be deposited into the U.S. Treasury and $50 will be deposited into the court’s library fund.
The pro hac vice motion fee more than doubles, going from $30 to $100, per case, per attorney. This entire fee will be deposited into the court’s library fund.
Motown Brought the Holiday Spirit to Victory Theatre
Shadows of the 60’s, a Motown tribute band, hit Victory Theatre’s stage Saturday evening bringing their holiday special to Evansville. The band traveled from New York just to bring the Motown feel back to Victory Theatre.
“It was the wow factor this group brought tonight that kept fans cheering and taking a part in the show,” said Executive Director, Scott Schoenike.
The theatre was taken back in time all night as the Motown Super Group took on some fan favorites such as Diana Ross, The Supremes and the Temptations. There were many times the audience was asked to participate and take over the songs and it brought the feel of the real Motown all through the theatre.

Carruth Leads Fuel Past IceMen on Teddy Bear Toss Night

The Indy Fuel held the Evansville IceMen offense in check thanks to a 44-save performance from Mac CarruthSaturday in a 3-1 win at the Ford Center at Evansville’s seventh annual Teddy Bear Toss event.
For the second straight night, Indy jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first period. Cody Sharib provided the goal for the Fuel when he snuck a shot between the legs of IceMen goalie Scott Greenham from a sharp angle low in the left circle at 13:10. Carruth stopped all 14 Evansville shots in the opening frame.
Former IceMen forward Dylan Clarke added to Indy’s lead when he banked a shot off the skate of an IceMen player and into the net early in the second period. Then Justin MacDonald brought the Teddy Bears flying on to the ice when he scored with 1:17 left in the period. Out of a goal-mouth scramble, MacDonald lifted the puck over the sprawled out Carruth to cut the Fuel lead in half.
The 5,117 fans in attendance rained a large number of Teddy Bears down onto the ice, sending the teams into the second intermission early. Those bears will be donated to 9-1-1 Gives Hope and other local children’s charities.
After the intermission, the Fuel capitalized on a little puck luck, when IceMen defenseman Andrew Himelson turned the puck over when his stick broke on a pass in the Evansville zone. The puck bounced right to Josh Brittain, who walked in and scored a short-handed goal to give the Fuel a 3-1 lead.
While the IceMen generated 45 shots, including 15 in the third period, Evansville’s power play was unsuccessful on five opportunities and went 0-for-9 on the weekend. Carruth won his sixth game of the season, and third against Evansville. Greenham stopped 29 shots in his first regulation loss since October 24.
The IceMen now have a week off for Christmas, before returning to the ice next Saturday, December 26 to face the Cincinnati Cyclones at the Ford Center. Game time is scheduled for 7:15pm as it will be Evansville’s annual “Home for the Holidays†game.
Then the team travels to Quad City Wednesday, December 30, before hosting the Mallards on New Years Eve and will bring in 2016 with indoor fireworks after the game in Evansville.

4) Companies to Add 600+ High-Wage Jobs for Hoosiers // December 17, 2015. Governor Mike Pence joins executives from 17 companies across Indiana to announce expansion plans that are expected to create a combined 648 new jobs in Allen, Boone, Clark, Hamilton, Marion, Shelby and Vanderburgh counties. These new jobs are anticipated to pay an average annual salary higher than $82,900, which is 85 percent higher than the state’s average wage.
