The Evansville Fire Department will be have an awards ceremony Wednesday, July 27^th at 3 PM.

The ceremony will be held at the American Red Cross, 29 S. Stockwell, Evansville.

Two dozen awards will be presented by the Evansville Fire Merit Commission to Evansville’s Bravest and other partner or responding agencies.

This week’s show features Morgan County Sheriff’s Department Jail Commander Major David Rogers. Major Rogers discusses the Morgan County Correctional Facilities Residential Substance Abuse Program (RSAP). This is an in house rehabilitation program addressing substance abuse.

The radio program was titled “Signal-10” in the early sixties when it was first started by two troopers in northern Indiana. The name was later changed to the “Indiana State Police Road Show” and is the longest continuously aired state police public service program in Indiana.

Radio stations across Indiana and the nation are invited to download and air for FREE this public service program sponsored by the Indiana State Police Alliance and Cops for Kids, a subsidiary of the Indiana State Police Alliance.

Indiana Conservation Officers are proud to announce that DNR Law Enforcement Division Director Danny L. East has been nominated to serve on the Board of Directors for the Indiana Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (ILEAC).

ILEAC was formed in 2005 to develop an accreditation process that provides law enforcement agencies an opportunity to demonstrate that they meet an established set of professional standards.

The standards are designed to;

-Increase law enforcement agency capabilities to prevent and control crime.

-Increase agency effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery of law enforcement services.

-Increase cooperation and coordination with other enforcement agencies and the criminal justice system.

-Increase citizen and employee confidence in the goals, objectives, policies, and practices of the agency.

First Security Bank Announces Hires in its Deposit Operations Division

OWENSBORO, KENTUCKY — First Security Bank hires three employees in its Deposit Operations department at the corporate headquarters in Owensboro, Kentucky.

Kevin Gallagher joined the bank as Vice President/Deposit Services Manager. Kevin comes to First Security

with more than 38 years of banking experience, holding various positions in banking operations and branch administration. A graduate of Indiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Kevin also earned a graduate degree in Bank Operations from the Bank Administration Institute at the University of Wisconsin. He most recently served as a bank consultant. Kevin’s previous experience include Senior Vice President/Retail Bank Manager at BB&T as well as Vice President/Director of Technology and Operations at Fifth Third Bank (formerly Civitas Bank.)

Melissa Meriwether is a Deposit Operations Specialist I with over eight years experience in banking operations, ATM reporting, credit card administration, customer service, and mobile banking. A graduate of Owensboro Community and Technical College, Melissa received an Associate’s degree in Applied Science with an emphasis in Business Management. Most recently with Independence Bank, Melissa spent the last eight years working as the Electronic Services Specialist.

Kevin Howard also came to the bank as a Deposit Operations Specialist I. He has more than 10 years experience in customer service, supervision, security, training, and logistics. Kevin has served as a Sergeant in the U.S Army. He earned an Associates Degree in Computer Information Systems, with a Software Application Specialty from Ivy Tech State College in Evansville. He also holds Associates Degree Arts and Sciences from Owensboro Community and Technical College.
