Jeffersonville – Enjoy Life Foods, a manufacturer of gluten-free and allergy-friendly foods, announced that it has relocated its production and distribution operations from Schiller Park, Illinois, to Jeffersonville, and plans to create a total of 200 new jobs in Indiana by the end of 2017. The company officially opened its new production and distribution facility at the River Ridge Commerce Center today.

The company is investing a total of more than $39 million to lease and equip a 200,000-square-foot production and distribution facility at 310 Salem Road in Jeffersonville, which will allow the company to more than double its production footprint from its previous Illinois facility. Enjoy Life Foods began construction in January, where it installed equipment for three production lines that are currently operational, with additional facility upgrades planned over the next 18 months. This facility will be North America’s largest dedicated allergy-friendly bakery.

Founded in 2001 by Scott Mandell based on a business plan he created as a student at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, Enjoy Life Foods offers 46 different allergy-friendly products such as cookies, chewy bars, seed and fruit mixes and baking mixes. The company currently employs 150 individuals nationwide and has already hired 100 employees as part of its growth plans in Jeffersonville. More than 50 Illinois-based companies have worked with the IEDC since its creation in 2005 to relocate their operations to Indiana, together pledging to create more than 5,000 new Hoosier jobs. Last year, Hoist Liftruck moved from Bedford Park, Illinois, to East Chicago, Indiana, with plans to create 500 Hoosier jobs. And in June AMKUS Rescue Systems announced that its relocation from Downers Grove, Illinois to Valparaiso, Indiana, will create 20 new Hoosier jobs.

Enjoy Life Foods is the third agribusiness just this week to announce that it is expanding or locating its operations in Indiana. Pretzels Inc., a pretzel and snack producer, announced on Tuesday that it is investing $15 million to open a new facility in Plymouth, Indiana, creating up to 65 new jobs, while Monogram Foods, a manufacturer and marketer of meat snacks, announced on Wednesday that it is investing $5.3 million to launch a new mini corn dog production line in Bristol, Indiana, creating up to 74 new jobs.

We are thrilled to welcome Enjoy Life Foods to Indiana.”

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Enjoy Life Foods up to $800,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company’s job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. The company also secured additional incentives through River Ridge Commerce Center’s Urban Enterprise Zone with the assistance of One Southern Indiana.

 Indianapolis – Tomorrow, First Lady Karen Pence, Indiana’s Bicentennial Ambassador, will join Lieutenant Governor Eric Holcomb,  co-chairs of the Indiana Bicentennial Commission, Lee Hamilton and former Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman, former First Lady Judy O’Bannon, and representatives from the Indiana Office of Tourism Development and the Indiana Bicentennial Commission to offer remarks at the Opening Ceremony of the Bicentennial Torch Relay. Zionsville - MOBI, a global provider of Managed Mobility Services (MMS), announced plans today to expand its operations, creating up to 521 new jobs by 2020.

The Indiana-based company, which was founded in 2009, is experiencing growing demand for its software that centralizes the management of mobile devices, increasing both recurring revenue by 67.8 percent and devices under management by 41 percent in 2015. MOBI will invest more than $11.51 million in office space and hardware to grow its operations at the Northwest Technology Park in Zionsville, potentially increasing its footprint from 60,000 square feet to more than 110,000 square feet over five years.

MOBI, which serves clients across the world, has increased its Hoosier headcount fivefold in the last six years. The company now employs more than 300 associates and plans to hire for various professional positions over five years with new positions expected to offer average salaries above the Boone County average wage. Within the last three months alone, Octiv, PactSafe, WDD Software, Sigstr, Determine and Torchlite have announced plans to expand tech-focused operations in Indiana, together committing to create more than 600 new Hoosier jobs in the coming years.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered MOBI up to $2,995,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $200,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. These incentives are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. Boone County and the town of Zionsville approved additional incentives at the request of the Boone County Economic Development Corporation.
