- This past Friday, Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Indiana State Police troopers assigned to the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force located a man wanted for the kidnapping and shooting death of his wife.
- Task Force members located Mr. Jarvis Madison as he left a shopping center in the area of Hurstbourne Parkway in Louisville, KY. Jarvis was taken into custody without incident and transferred to the custody of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

IU’s Pieroni Wins Bronze, King Sets American Record at FINA World Championships
WINDSOR, Ontario – Members past and present of the Indiana University swimming team had great performances at the 2016 FINA Short Course Meter World Championships on Tuesday night in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
2016 Rio Olympic gold medalist Blake Pieroni added another medal to his trophy case on Tuesday night, winning a bronze with Team USA, who tied for third in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:07.76. Pieroni swam the anchor leg for the American, splitting a 46.02 – the third-fastest split of any swimmer in the event.
In the women’s 50 breaststroke semifinals, Lilly King qualified second overall for Wednesday night’s final with a time of 29.17. King’s impressive time is an American record and ranks her as the fifth-fastest performer in the event all-time.
IU alum Cody Miller qualified fifth overall for Wednesday night’s final in the 100 breaststroke, touching the wall in a time of 57.14.
Indiana postgrad swimmer Zane Grothe had a nice showing in the final of the 400 freestyle, placing seventh overall with a time of 3:40.20.
The 2016 Short Course World Championships will continue on Wednesday in Windsor, Ontario, with prelims beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET and finals beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET.

TROPICANA EVANSVILLE ANNOUNCES 21st ANNUAL CHARITY TOURNAMENT
Since 1996, Tropicana Evansville has celebrated the spirit of the holiday season by hosting charity slot and blackjack tournaments in the month of December. These tournaments are unique in that players’ entry fees are either a new toy valued at $10 or more, or $10 or more in cash. The generosity of Tropicana Evansville’s players is exhibited through the many toys collected and money donated.  This year’s tournaments will be held Thursday, December 1 through Sunday, December 4.
All proceeds benefit two area organizations, Salvation Army’s Toy Town and Santa Clothes Club. Tropicana Evansville has a 20-year history with both organizations and has donated more than 20,699 toys ($206,990 value) and $41,110 to assist them in their efforts over the years.

Vice President-elect Governor Mike Pence Directs Flags Be Flown at Half-staff Statewide
Indianapolis – In accordance with a presidential proclamation issued this evening, Vice President-elect Governor Mike Pence is directing flags at state facilities statewide be lowered to half-staff at sunrise on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in honor of the 75thanniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Flags should return to full-staff at sunset on December 7.
Vice President-elect Governor Pence also asks businesses and residents to lower their flags to half-staff in honor of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
Indiana Conservation Officer named as 2016 PELA Leader Award recipient
Indiana Conservation Officer Captain Zach Mathews has been selected by the Indiana Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) as the 2016 Police Executive Leadership Academy (PELA) Leader’s Leader Award. Mathews completed the PELA Academy in 2016 and received accolades from PELA facilitator, Dr. Neil Moore, for his classroom contributions and leadership perspectives. “Captain Mathews is one of the superior police leaders in Indiana at this time and a great role model for any police agencyâ€, said Dr. Moore. “Capt. Mathews is exploring leadership principles from such diverse places as the Disney Corporation, Chick-fil-A and several other private sector organizations with an eye toward applying those principles in a policing environment.†Captain Mathews is a native of Columbus Indiana. He was hired as an Indiana Conservation Officer in 1998 and was assigned to Bartholomew County. Mathews was promoted to Detective Sergeant in 2003. He was promoted to Captain of Investigations in 2005 and was placed in command of Training Section in 2011.
