Applications Now Being Accepted for St. Vincent’s 2019 HCAMPS
Middle school students interested in a career in healthcare have the opportunity to participate in St. Vincent’s 2019 HCAMPS, a program presented by Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, in partnership with the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation and the Catholic Diocese of Evansville. 2019 HCAMPS will take place June 10 – 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
HCAMPS is open to current seventh grade students (eighth graders in 2019) in Gibson, Posey, Warrick and Vanderburgh counties who are interested in a healthcare related field. During the camp, students will work in simulation labs, tour local health science facilities and perform various hands-on activities. In addition, students will learn about the variety of careers possible in the healthcare industry, the best healthcare positions to pursue to gain employment and the academic requirements for healthcare related fields.
Students interested in attending need to fill out an application at https://bit.ly/appHCAMPS2019 by 4 p.m., Friday, January 11, 2019. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent to apply. In addition, each student must complete a 150-word essay explaining why he/she is interested in participating in the program. Cost for the program is $100 (due after acceptance) and financial aid is available.

CELEBRATE DIVERSITY DIA DE LOS MUERTOS (DAY OF THE DEAD) AT ANGEL MOUNDS

Be sure to catch Chicago-based traditional Mexican folk music and dance ensemble, Sones de México, who, as part of their main performance at 3:30 p.m., will be working with local songwriters to create and perform a corrido, or tragic ballad, for a community figure, to be announced.

DOGS NIGHT OUT COMING THIS SATURDAY
Evansville, Ind: The Evansville Thunderbolts would like to remind you that this upcoming Saturday’s game against the Knoxville Ice Bears will be the first of two Dogs Night Out promotion nights this season, sponsored by Midwestern Pet Foods.
Fans can bring their pet dogs to the game for only five dollars extra per dog, and the first 100 dogs in the door will receive a free goodie bag, so be sure to arrive early! Wiener dog races will also be taking place, during the first intermission. Even if you do not have a dog, there is still plenty of reason to come, as the Vanderburgh Humane Society will be on hand with dogs available for adoption! All dogs will be able to be seated in sections 109-112, with dog rest areas and water bowls in the concourse immediately behind the listed sections. You will also be able to take your dog outside behind section 109, near the Sky Walk.
Following the game, fans are welcome onto the ice to meet and greet with the players, upon completion of a signed waiver. Waivers can be picked up behind section 102. Unfortunately, dogs will NOT be allowed onto the ice after the game. Skates will be supplied by Swonder Ice Arena, however you may bring your own skates from home as well.
The Thunderbolts are currently competing in their third season in the SPHL (Southern Professional Hockey League). Season tickets are less than $9 per game. To order your tickets for this season, call 812-422-BOLT(2658).

(Evansville, Nov 1, 2018) ————- VenuWorks Theatricals, the production company behind the brand new holiday show Noël – The Musical, on tour this Holiday season in the US, has just announced an amazing opportunity for local performing artists to be part of the new Christmas musical when it comes to the Victory Theatre in Evansville, IN on Friday December 7th 2018.
The producers are extending a never before seen opportunity for lucky local performing artists to join the cast of NOËL as members on stage at the Victory Theatre, and are seeking to fill up to three separate chorus roles; Barnabas (an adult male who is homeless and down on his luck); Emily (an adult female, homeless woman, but an eternal optimist); Youth (male “Cody†or female “Greta†11– 14 years of age).
NOËL -The Musical is a wonderful family show, filled with mayhem, magic and music! Set in modern day London, NOËL is a heartwarming tale of a little girl (Noël), who is preparing for her starring role in a school Christmas play when her mother suddenly disappears. She keeps hermother’s disappearance a secret and embarks alone on a quest to find her. Along the way, shebefriends a diverse group of homeless characters that have lost their way in life, including Nick, whobelieves the world has forgotten the true meaning of Christmas. Noël’s bright innocence andunwavering belief in finding her mother, inspires Nick to embrace life once more, finding love and hope in himself and in the world.
In order to be considered for one of the walk-on roles in the December 7th performance, candidates should submit a 3-minute audition video to victorytheatreevv@gmail.com by 10PM CT Tuesday November 6th. The audition video should include the candidate’s name and a short theatrical background, why they are auditioning for NOËL and 16 bars of audition music that demonstrates their vocal range. The final selection will be made by the production team of NOËL, headed by Tour Director, Sam Scalamoni. Children’s March On Evansville
Youth of all ages are invited to take part in the Children’s March on Evansville on November 4, 2018.
The Children’s March on Evansvillewill provide a platform for youth to come together in support of eliminating bias, prejudice, bullying and social stigmas in our community.
The purpose of the March is to actively promote love, cultural understanding and acceptanceusing the voices of the future leaders of our community.
Gather your group and family and meet us at the Four Freedoms Monument on November 4, 2018 at 3 pm. Sign making will begin at 2 pm at Old National Bank located downtown at One Main Street. Registration is not required.
