MULTI-PLATINUM ARTIST ELLE KING

PLAYS THE EVENTS PLAZA STAGE THIS NOVEMBER

TICKETS GO ON SALE FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2024, AT 10:00 AM

Evansville, IN — September 16, 2024 — Hometown Jams and Old National Events Plaza are thrilled to announce Elle King: Baby Daddy’s Weekend Tour will perform at Aiken Theatre on November 17, 2024. Fans can get tickets early during the venue presale starting September 18 by visiting the venue’s social media pages.

The multi-platinum, award-winning recording artist has amassed nearly 2 billion streams worldwide, including over 275 million for King’s Platinum-certified smash hit “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” with Miranda Lambert. The award-winning song reached no. 1 on both Billboard’s Country Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck Charts.

King is the first female artist in history to score No. 1 singles on four different formats including Adult Pop Songs, Adult Alternative Songs, Alternative Songs and Country Airplay charts. Her debut album Love Stufffeatured her breakthrough single “Ex’s & Oh’s,” which earned her two GRAMMY nominations and is certified 4-times Platinum.

King’s 2023 album Come Get Your Wife received rave reviews and a Top 10 on the Billboard Album Sales Chart. Co-producing the album and writing eight of its tracks, the record includes “Drunk,” “Out Yonder,” “Try Jesus,” “Jersey Giant” and her Gold-certified single “Worth A Shot,” featuring Dierks Bentley. This is the second time King and Bentley have teamed up, following their Grammy-nominated, CMA Award-winning, RIAA Platinum-certified No. 1 hit “Different for Girls.”

Her unique blend of music has found her a multi-genre fanbase, and she tours with multi-genre artists like Jelly Roll, Tyler Childers, Dierks Bentley, Melissa Etheridge and The Chicks.

Her new song “Baby Daddy’s Weekend” sets the tone for her return. Never one to shy away from a party, or start one, King doubles down and brings all the sass and swagger she’s known for. Written by King and Pillbox Patti (Nicolette Hayford), with lines like “turn it up raise a cup, you think you feel but, it ain’t even hit yet,” you know you’re in for a good time.

For more information about the tour visit www.elleking.com

Soulful and song-forward, The Band Loula will bring a swampy and acoustic spirit to their instantly transfixing country music as special guests. Having spent the year touring with artists like Brothers Osborne, Ashley McBryde, Paul Cauthen and Brent Cobb, The Band Loula will mesmerize audiences while supporting Elle King on this show date.

West Side Nut Club Fall Festival Reigns as Best Fall Festival in USA Today 2024 Reader’s Choice

0

Release Date: September 18, 2024 Contact: Brandon McClish, WSNC

Evansville, IN – The West Side Nut Club Fall Festival has once again been named the Best Fall Festival by USA Today in their 2024 Reader’s Choice Awards. For the second consecutive year, this beloved event has earned top honors, underscoring its status as a premier celebration of community spirit and tradition.

Following the West Side Nut Club’s distribution of over $700,000 at their annual Founder’s Day event, the Fall Festival is ready to take the national stage once more. Attracting over 200,000 visitors during its weeklong run, the Fall Festival stands as one of the largest street festivals in the United States. The event is renowned not only for its size but also for its exceptional features, including the nation’s largest halfpot, which surpassed $1.8 million in 2023.

David Murphy, the 2024 Fall Festival Chair, shared his excitement: “The best part of our Fall Festival is that it is truly a community event. All of the 120-plus food booths are operated by non-profits, and everything generated during our festival is reinvested into the community. This commitment is evident in our Founder’s Day event, where we distribute proceeds directly back into our schools and nonprofits. Over our 103-year tradition, we have provided $9.6 million back into the community. We are incredibly grateful to be recognized on a national level.”

The 2024 Fall Festival will take place from October 7th-12th and promises an array of attractions including free live entertainment, carnival rides, over 120 diverse food booths, and thrilling talent competitions. The week will culminate with a grand parade featuring Al Unser, Jr. as the Grand Marshal.

A recent economic impact study highlights the festival’s significant contribution to the local economy, with an estimated impact of nearly $7 million. This underscores the festival’s role as a vital economic driver for Evansville and its surrounding communities.

Congratulations to the West Side Nut Club and the entire Evansville community for this prestigious recognition. The Fall Festival continues to be a shining example of how community-focused events can have a lasting positive impact on both residents and visitors alike.

The University of Southern Indiana Multicultural Center (MCC) is excited to host its 30th Anniversary Celebration, happening Friday, October 25 through Sunday, October 27. This weekend will bring together alumni, current students and the community to honor the MCC’s impact on campus. All events are open to current and former USI students, employees and the public.

Events include the Live at the Apollo talent event, a Family Fun Day/Cookout, a Celebration Dinner, Alumni Recognition, and Dancing event, and concluding the weekend, a Gospel Brunch. For a full list of events, visit the USI MCC Schedule of Events website

“This milestone cements the Multicultural Center’s place in USI’s history,” says Dr. Pamela Hopson, Interim Vice President for Student Affairs and Founder of the USI Multicultural Center. “We will celebrate those who came before us, those who have supported us and those who will come after us as we highlight the legacy of the Center. We look forward to celebrating with you.”

USI’s MCC was established in 1994 to enhance the personal and academic success of students by preparing them to be responsible citizens in a multicultural society. Opportunities are created to provide cultural interaction between students, the campus and the community at large to provide outreach experiences and to promote cultural awareness and sensitivity.
