Obituary for Mary Jane Zausch
On October 23, 1965, she married the love of her life, former Evansville Aces basketball player, Edward L. Zausch. They had three children and their family was the passion of her life. They moved to Henderson, Kentucky in 1976 where they met lifetime friends, becoming active members of the community. In 1996, they moved back to Evansville.
Jane is survived by her husband, Ed Zausch; three children, Edward Wallace Zausch, Jennifer Leigh Zausch, and William Scott Zausch; grandchildren, Greg, Hank, and Eli Woodward, Elayna, Wyatt, Lillian, and Owen Zausch, Jackson and Sienna Manners; and sisters, Kathleen Lorenz (Richard) and Judy Theis (Edward).
Interment will be at St. Joseph Mausoleum at a later date.

John Leon DiGirolamo, 94, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019. He was born May 5, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA to the late John and Mary (Cautilli) DiGirolamo.
He worked for 26 years with Frankford Arsenal as a mechanical engineer designing artillery for the US government, especially with night vision technology. After his retirement, he worked with a private contractor and continued to design artillery for the US government. He was on the first Honor Flight out of Evansville. John was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose; wife of 41 years, Marie O. DiGirolamo; siblings, Michael, Norma, Robert, Theresa, Lorraine and Ronald, and son, John A. DiGirolamo. He is survived by daughter, Karen Schraeder (Randy), and granddaughter, April Fieno (Thomas).
There will be a Funeral Service at Alleva Funeral Home, 1724 E. Lancaster Avenue, Paoli, PA at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2019, with burial in St. Peter and St. Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA.

Beverly Jean Hicks, 71, of Newburgh, IN, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019, at Bell Oaks Place. She was born on June 2, 1948, in Evansville, IN, to the late Charles and Shirley Mae (Bice) Goodman.
Beverly was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She loved to cook, often making large meals for her family and friends. She volunteered for several outreach programs to help others.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Geri Gowins.
Beverly is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gerald Hicks; daughter, Stacy Hicks; grandchildren, Zachary and Brandon Hicks, Allyssa DeVault, and Ryan and Evan Gowins; sisters, Vivian Sullivan of WI, Pamela K. Goodman of Olney, IL, and Patricia Newton of Newburgh; brother, Charles Goodman; stepfather, William Kelsie of Evansville; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Hwy 261, Newburgh, Indiana, officiated by Pastor Ken Slater, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel.

Julia M. Heilman, 78, Evansville, IN, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 8, 1940 in Mortons Gap, KY, to E.B and Helon (Gatlin) Welch.
Julia graduated from F.J. Reitz High School and worked in the athletic office where she met her husband, Charles. She retired from Sears after 30 years of service as Human Resource Specialist. She was an active member of Howell General Baptist Church where she loved playing the piano and singing in the choir. Julia taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of the Queen Esther Missionary Society. Through her school, job and church, she met some life-long friends who she still enjoyed spending time with. She served on the board at the Evansville Protestant Home and also played the piano for the residents. Julia loved shopping, especially her annual shopping trip with her daughters. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family on vacations and attending her grandchildren’s activities.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents, E.B and Helon Welch and her nephew Brandon Burton Kelly.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles Heilman; daughters, Lesa Heilman Woodruff (Bruce), Kendra Heilman Montgomery (Gerald) and Amy Heilman Wedding (Jeff); grandchildren, Kayla Mayer (Bryan), Haley Woodruff, Logan and Luke Montgomery, Collin and Jacob Wedding; sisters, Sharon Kelly (Larry) of Magnolia, TX, Rebecca Betulius (Steve) of Westerville, OH; and nieces, nephews and aunts.

Chandler, IN. – Mitchell G. Wheeler, 57, died Monday June 24, 2019 at his residence in Chandler, Indiana.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his parent Glenn C. and Barbara S. Wheeler and brother, Michael W. Wheeler.
Surviving Mitchell is his wife of 20 years, Tammy; daughter Becci Giddings(Mark); Brother, Terry(Mary); Nephew, Jeffery Wheeler(Tina); one grandchild, Leah Giddings and many friends.

Boonville, IN. – Lois Smith, 72 years old (February 1, 1947- June 25, 2019) has joined her Heavenly family, parents, Clarence and Dorothea Addington and dear Aunt Edna Addington. She waits to be reunited someday with those left on earth: husband, Ron Smith; daughters, Jenny Stadelmann and Angela Taylor (Ryan); grandchildren, Grace and Ellie Stadelmann and Josiah and Micah Taylor; sister, Linda Hadley (David); brother-in-law, Jim Smith (Margie); and nieces and nephews Julia (Aaron) Mayes, Doug (Amee) Hadley, Chris (Jaleigh) Hadley, Aaron (Lisa) Smith, and Zachary Smith.
Lois was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. Outside of family, she poured her passions into serving others, especially through teaching and music. She taught for more than 35 years, the majority being at Castle High School, as an English and Literature teacher. Her service continued outside of the classroom to provide additional support to teens during difficult transitions.
Lois also enjoyed learning about other cultures through her travels to Europe with students and through her participation in a professional development program with other teachers traveling throughout Asia and developing an Asian literature program. These amazing cross-cultural experiences expanded her ability to see the image of God in all people.
Lois’ other love was music. She played piano at Main Street General Baptist Church for over 25 years, and she especially enjoyed preparing for and performing cantatas around the holidays.
Services will be 10 A.M. on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, Indiana with Pastor Rodney Sloan officiating. Burial will be at Mt Gilead Cemetery in Boonville, Indiana.
Visitation will be 4 P.M. until 7 P.M. on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the funeral home and again from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Friday.
