We hope that today’s “IS IT TRUE” will provoke honest and open dialogue concerning issues that we, as responsible citizens of this community, need to address in a rational and responsible way.

IS IT TRUE that the only events scheduled in the Ford Center during December are Thunderbolts Hockey and Aces Basketball? …that we wonder how the FORD CENTER can afford to retire the $29 million construction debt?

IS IT TRUE that many families will go into debt to buy Christmas gifts? …that retailers no longer sell high-end products but sell the financing that makes it possible to buy them now?

IS IT TRUE that the city council will be presented with a request tonight to reappropriate over $3 million?

IS IT TRUE that a local sheriff is frustrated with state training standards that force a veteran deputy with 49 years of experience to meet the same physical standards as a new officer?

IS IT TRUE that Vanderburgh County deputies enjoyed the opportunity to set their razors aside for November? …that the deputies donated money to charity for the privilege of relaxing the uniform code? …That $3,000 was raised and split between Cancer Pathways, Chemo Buddies, and Oliver’s Heroes K9?

IS IT TRUE that the price tag for the new artificial Christmas tree for the Civic Center is a whooping $73,000?

IS IT TRUE that some local elected officials are telling constituents that Braun’s plan to reduce property tax will result in local communities raising income taxes to offset the revenue loss?

Ton O Fun Tattoo Club has joined the toy drive for Cedar Hall, offering a flash tattoo discount of $50 for those who donate a toy valued at $20 or more to their toy drive.

The tattoo parlor is joining City Church to collect gifts for the Cedar Hall Christmas Toy Shop! The toys are for the parent shop, allowing families in need to provide Christmas gifts to their children.

To help you determine what to buy, click here for the Amazon wish list. Toys can be shipped directly to City Church, or you can ship the order to your home and take it to the church Welcome Center.

They ask that the toy be new, unwrapped, and not a toy weapon.

Here’s where to find more info: Ton O Fun Tattoo Club’s Toy Drive on their Facebook, and City Church’s Cedar Hall’s Christmas Toy Shop on their website.
