Gov. Holcomb Signs Executive Order To Increase Care Options For School-Aged Children

0

Governor Eric J. Holcomb today signed Executive Order 20-40 to increase child care options for families seeking support during virtual school days.

The executive order allows school corporations to contract with organizations, such as the Boys and Girls Club or a YMCA, to operate school-age child care programs in locations in addition to public school buildings to help families who need care while their students engage in e-learning.

Additionally, the order increases from six to ten the number of school-aged children allowed to gather in a home on school days for e-learning without requiring the child care setting to be licensed.

Right Jab And Middle Jab And Left Jab” August 22, 2020

The majority of our “IS IT TRUE” columns are about local or state issues, so we have decided to give our more opinionated readers exclusive access to our newly created “LEFT JAB and Middle Jab and RIGHT JAB”  column. They now have this post to exclusively discuss national or world issues that they feel passionate about.
We shall be posting the “LEFT JAB” AND “MIDDLE JAB” AND “RIGHT JAB” several times a week.  Oh, “LEFT JAB” is a liberal view, “MIDDLE JAB” is the libertarian view and the “RIGHT JAB is representative of the more conservative views. Also, any reader who would like to react to the written comments in this column is free to do so.

“IS IT TRUE” AUGUST 21, 2020

3
We hope that today’s “IS IT TRUE” will provoke honest and open dialogue concerning issues that we, as responsible citizens of this community, need to address in a rational and responsible way.
City-County Observer Comment Policy. Be kind to people. No personal attacks or harassment will be tolerated and will be removed from our site.
We understand that sometimes people don’t always agree and discussions may become a little heated.  The use of offensive language, insults against commenters will not be tolerated and will be removed from our site.
IS IT TRUE it’s obvious that some intellectually challenged politicians cannot make predictions better than a dart flinging monkey when it comes to giving advice on how to contain the COVID-19 virus?…some politicians panic and makes edicts that are then overturned time and again because they are literally in way over their heads?… the official position of most government officials have gone from “Corona will never come to so please come visit us for a virus-safe holiday” to “wear a mask but we are not going to do anything about it if you don’t”? …the litany of inconsistencies has shaken people’s faith in the ability of government to know right from left or up from down?…when in doubt listen to well-credentialed scientists when they tell you to wear your mask and stay a safe distance from people and wash your hands regularly?
IS IT TRUE that the Vanderburgh County “COVID-19 RESOURCE AND AWARENESS TASK FORCE” and the “MAYORS RE-OPEN EVANSVILLE TASK FORCE” are doing a credible job for the citizens of this community?
IS IT TRUE we been saying for months that the more we test people for the COVID -19 virus the number of viruses cases will greatly be increased?
IS IT TRUE it’s been recently reported that a confidential CDC document states that fully opening schools and Universities are high risks?  …it looks like this information is no longer confidential?
IS IT TRUE that autopsies are revealing how the CORVID -19 virus is silently spreading across American?
IS IT TRUE millions of Americans are going hungry as pandemic erodes incomes?
IS IT TRUE that alleged scientists tell us that the CORVID-19 virus will not live above 78 degrees?  … today the states of California, Arizona, Texas, and Florida have become hot spots?…these are places that do not even get below 78 degrees right now at night?
IS IT TRUE people are telling us that every time Governor Holcomb goes out of State and leaves his Lt. Governor in charge the “Holcomb and Crouch” political polls jump 2 to 3  percentage points?
IS IT TRUE that numerous City of Evansville officials were warned by former Councilman and Finance Chairman John Friend CPA to be prepared to see many more millions of dollars of overage in the 2020-21 City Employees Hospitalization Fund budget?  …it looks like the chickens have come home roost?
IS IT TRUE it now looks like former City Council President and Finance Chairman John Friend, CPA prediction that starting in 2021 the City of Evansville will be experiencing a major budget meltdown was spot on?
IS IT TRUE that many governmental entries are not only practicing “taxation without representation” but also “taxation without explanation”?
IS IT TRUE when businesses have major budget shortfalls they make serious budget cuts?  …when some elected officials experience a major budget shortfall they give their employees a pay raise?
IS IT TRUE there are two individuals serving on the Vanderburgh County Council and one person serving on the Evansville City Council that makes former Republican presidential candidate Barry Goldwater look liberal?  …we give five (5) cheers to Justin Elpers, Jim Raben, and Tom Shelter, Jr. for being good financial stewards of the public trust?
IS IT TRUE the last time the City’s General Fund ran a surplus was the last year of Mayor Weinzapfel’s administration and the surplus was over $3 million dollars?
IS IT TRUE that several years ago a neighborhood group called “Jacobsville Join In” was sponsored by ECHO Housing-Evansville and the Evansville DMD?  …they received their operating funds from the Evansville DMD? …that “Jacorsville  Join In” group was created to promote the cultural, economic, political, educational, and social activities for the Jacobsville neighborhoods? …we been told that this group was making a positive impact in the Jacobsville area?  …the DMD closed the “Jacobsville Join In” North Main Street offices without fanfare? …it’s time for the officials at DMD to come forward and make a public statement concerning the abrupt closing of this important North Main Street neighborhood group?
IS IT TRUE over the last 15 plus years the CCO has published around 285 “IS IT TRUE” columns per year?  …each column had an average of seven (7) “IS IT TRUE” statements posted in it?  …our guesstimate is that the City-County Observer has written and posted around 37,000 “IS IT TRUE” statements over the last 15 plus years?
IS IT TRUE we would like to thank Noak Stubbs, Director of Communication for Mayor Winnecke for sending us news articles in a timely manner?
IS IT TRUE when the people fear the Government we have Tyranny!  When the Government fears the people we have Liberty?
IS IT TRUE our “READERS POLLS” are non-scientific but trendy?
Today’s “Readers Poll” question is: What did you think of Presidential candidate Joe Biden’s acceptance speech?
