The first event of the day is the weight throw and long jump, scheduled for 10 AM ET, with the meet running throughout the day. Live results can be found here.

Evansville enters the 2026 season looking to build off a 2025 campaign that saw the Aces post their best Outdoor Championships score in the MVC era.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – On Friday, the University of Evansville women’s basketball team returns to Meeks Family Fieldhouse for a key conference battle with the UIC Flames. Tip-off is set for 6 PM. The contest marks Pride Night at Meeks Family Fieldhouse, as the Aces will celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.
Series History   
– Friday marks the 20th meeting between Evansville and UIC
– Evansville leads the series 10-9, including a 6-3 advantage in the River City
– Since UIC joined the MVC ahead of the 2022-23 season, the Flames have taken six of seven meetings

Offensive Outburst
– Since entering MVC play, Evansville has upped their scoring from 60.4 to 71.8 ppg
– The last three games account for three of Evansville’s four highest-scoring games this season
– The increased scoring output has come with a significant increase in assist numbers as well, as the Aces have improved from 12.3 assists per game in non-conference play to 16.2 assists per game against MVC foes

Weekly Honors
– Sydney Huber received her first MVC Freshman of the Week award on Monday after averaging 13 points, 2.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds across two games last week
– Huber has been one of the top freshmen in the Valley this season, ranking fifth in the conference in scoring among freshmen at 6.8 points per game
– The sharpshooter has also been one of the top three-point shooters in the league, ranking third in the MVC and top among qualified MVC freshmen with a 34.7% mark from distance
– In Valley play, Huber has been Evansville’s number two scorer, scoring 9.6 ppg

Scouting the Opponent
– UIC comes into Friday’s game with a 7-9 record and a 2-3 mark in MVC play
– The Flames are coming off a loss at Illinois State on Thursday by a score of 75-61
– Jessica Carrothers leads UIC and ranks third in the Valley in scoring at 18.2 ppg

McKinney broke two program records last week

1. LOUIS – A record-breaking week for Levi McKinney got even better on Wednesday when he was named the Missouri Valley Conference Men’s Diver of the Week. The native of Boonville, Ind. set University of Evansville program records in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives last weekend.

McKinney opened the week by setting the school record in the 3-meter dive against UIC. His score of 336.83 broke the previous record and qualified him for the NCAA Zones. He scored a 276.08 in the 1-meter dive to take third place.

One day later, McKinney broke another school mark in the meet at Southern Illinois. With a score of 335.80 in the 1-meter dive, McKinney reset the program record while earning another score that qualified him for the NCAA Zones. On top of that, he took the victory in the 3-meter event with a score of 329.05.

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana Cheer Team is set to compete at the UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championships Friday-Sunday at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.
 
USI will compete for the first time in the Division I All-Girl Game Day competition as well as the Traditional Performance competition.
 
The Screaming Eagles, under the direction of Head Coach Megan Ringer, have been working extremely hard throughout the first semester and throughout the holiday break in preparation for this year’s competition. They’ve performed both routines during the halftimes of recent USI men’s and women’s basketball games.
 
In 2025, USI earned an eighth-place finish in the finals of the Small Coed Division I competition. The Screaming Eagles were one of four teams to post a clean sheet in the deduction’s column during the final round as they finished with 79.8 points.
 
This year’s trip marks the third straight season that USI will compete at the Division I level after they participated in the All-Girl Division I competition two seasons ago.
 
The prelims for this year’s All-Girl Game Day competition will take place Friday, while the prelims for the Traditional Performance competition are Saturday.
 
USI is slotted to compete Friday at 12:14 p.m. (CST) and Saturday at 8:09 a.m. (CST). The finals and award ceremonies for the All-Girl Game Day competition are Saturday from 1:45-8 p.m. (CST), while the finals and awards ceremonies for the Traditional Performance competition are Sunday from 6:45 – 1 p.m. (CST).
