Eagles Kick Off Indoor Season At Hoosier Open

0

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Track & Field begins the NCAA Division I era with a trip to Bloomington, Indiana to compete in the Hoosier Open Friday hosted by Indiana University. The Screaming Eagles will be competing as Ohio Valley Conference members for the first time in program history.

USI’s men and women competitors finished the 2021-22 campaign with fourth-place team finishes at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Championships in Indianapolis where sophomore Cameron Hough (Olney, Illinois) was crowned the 5,000-meter champion. The men were able to collect a team score of 20 points in the NCAA Division II Championships, finishing in 10th. The women sent two runners to the National Championships to compete in the 5,000-meter where Hough finished 16th out of 19 runners.

A key returner for the Eagles’ men is junior Kyle Crone (Maryville, Illinois). Crone currently holds the USI record in the long jump with his leap of 22′ 5.25″ at the GLVC Indoor Championships. Hough returns to the USI women’s group after a successful indoor season ending with a conference championship, All-Region honor, and an NCAA II qualifying time.

After the Hoosier Open, the Eagles take a break until January 20 when USI competes in the Bellarmine Open in Louisville, Kentucky along with the Gladstein Invitational in Bloomington, Indiana. The OVC Indoor Championships are slated for February 22-23, however, the Eagles will not be able to compete at the NCAA I National Championships this season. The outdoor season is scheduled to begin March 17 when USI competes in the Jim Vargo Invitational hosted by Bellarmine University.

TICKETS GO ON SALE NATIONALLY ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2022 AT 10 AM

Evansville, IN -  December 6, 2022 – Comedian Nate Bargatze is stopping by Old National Events Plaza on June 3, 2023, with his national tour, The Be Funny Tour. The new tour will include all new material with more dates to be announced soon.

Hailing from Old Hickory, Tennessee, stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze has been recognized this year as “The Nicest Man in Stand-Up,” by The Atlantic Magazine and a “Rising Star,” by CBS Morning. The 2021 GRAMMY®-Award nominated comedian and podcaster is selling out shows across the world.

Bargatze’s comedy is both clean and relatable, which is evident in his ten appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon following four appearances on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. Both of Nate’s one-hour Netflix specials, “The Tennessee Kid” (2019) and “The Greatest Average American” (2021) premiered globally with rave reviews.

In July 2020, the comedian teamed up with All Things Comedy to release his podcast, Nateland. The world is a crazy place and there’s plenty of podcasts out there tackling the tough issues. However, Nateland tackles the meaningless issues that we face day to day to give listeners a much-needed mental break from fighting the good fight. New episodes release Wednesdays, with video available on Nate’s YouTube channel and audio available everywhere you get podcasts.
