IS IT TRUE it incumbent upon us to remind our City and County officials that Revenue Bonds are rated based on the revenue they generate to make principal and interest payments and based on any assets pledged to secure the bonds? …that Corporations are judged on their ability to generate earnings, while a state or local municipality may also issue a general obligation bond, which is backed by the taxing power of the municipality? …the more revenue a bond can generate, the higher its credit rating?
IS IT TRUE that we have been told by reliable sources that the projected costs to build the new Evansville Water And Sewer Treatment plant may be between $250 to $300 million dollars?
IS IT TRUE we are extremely, pleased with the way State Senator Vaneta Becker is conducting herself on our behalf?
IS IT TRUE that this year’s “SHINERFEST” was a big success?  …we give 5 cheers to those who help make to worthwhile community event successful?
IS IT TRUE that politicians all over America have supported a practice known as “political patronage” when it comes to hiring workers whose jobs are financed fully or partially by Federal and State grants?
IS IT TRUE that the Evansville City Council could use the leadership, political, and business skills of former City Council members John Friend CPA, Connie Robinson, and Curt John-Atty?
IS IT TRUE we commend the Vanderburgh County Commission Legal Council, David L. Jones-Esq., and Craig R. Emig-Esq. for doing an outstanding job for the County? …we would also like to commend Lauren K. Jones, RP, IRP, and Law Firm Administrator for keeping attornies Jones and Emig headed in the right direction?
IS IT TRUE that 3rd Ward Evansville City Councilman Zac Heronemus is running for re-election and may be facing some stiff competition? …we are told that Republican Joe Kratochvil will be taking Councilman Heronemus to task concerning a couple of his overreaching amendments to city ordinances during the last 3 1/2 years?
IS IT TRUE that Evansville recently purchased many acres of land from UE located next to Roberts Park that was once used as an outdoor sports complex for $2 million dollars?  …we are wondering how many more millions of dollars will Evansville have to spend to get the land suitable for the next phase of development?
IS IT TRUE that the law professor Jessica Levinson for NBC News said that “the Presidential pardons are transparently transactional, having nothing to do with fairness or justice and everything to do with rewarding loyalists, allies, and, almost inexplicably, war criminals and disgraced politicians”?  …that Presidential pardons are supposed to act as a fail-safe when the federal criminal justice system malfunctions?

IS IT TRUE that it is no secret that the newspaper industry has been falling on hard times for at least a decade?  …that the many newspapers struggle to survive?  …in order to save money some METRO newspapers drastically reduced their reporting staff in essence forcing the papers to lower the literary bar when it comes to quality reporting?
