William Edward Edmondson, 76, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital.
The dash in his life was from Monday, March 1st 1943 – Wednesday, June 5th, 2019. Bill was born in Wilson, N.C. to Ira and Nellie (Nicholson) Edmondson. Bill was a veteran of the USMC, stationed at camp Lejuene, N.C. during the Vietnam War. After his discharge he became a semi driver for Aramark Uniform Service. His CB handle was “purple worm”. He retired from Aramark in 2003 after 35 years of service.
William enjoyed old country music, car racing, fishing, his camp in Eddyville, KY, traveling, and mimosa trees and hummingbirds. Bill married his wife, Kaye (Swedenburg), on December 25, 1965. They had 3 children; William C. (Chuck), Lori A., and Scott A.
Bill is preceded in death by his son, William C., 1995, his parents, and a brother Dallas.
He is survived by his wife, Kaye, of 53 years; mother-in-law, Evelyn E. Swedenburg; daughter, Lori Meyer (Kenny), and their daughter, Kaylee Meyer (Cheeks); son, Scotty (Melissa), and their children Cade, Aly, and Avery; granddaughter, Tifini Edmondson and her children Zelda, Zagun, and Wesson; brother, Ira G. (Garnet); sister-in-law, Helen; nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed by all.
Private services officiated by Pastor Clint Walker, were held at Bill’s request at Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel. Burial was at Locust Hill Cemetery.
