The Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library has introduced a new service that gives customers access to hundreds of online courses.  How much does it cost to enroll?  Courses are free with a Library card.

Learn4Life offers library users hundreds of online courses covering everything from health and wellness to creative writing, computer programming, GED test preparation and much more.  Some courses may even earn LEU/CEU credits.  Learn4Life courses are developed by expert instructors, many currently working at universities around the country.

“Part of our mission at the EVPL is to create experiences for lifelong learning,” said Amy Mangold, Community Relations and Development Officer for the EVPL.  “With Learn4Life online courses, our customers will be able to enroll in courses covering all types of topics and subjects.  Whether someone is considering taking a class to enhance a skill for their job or is just interested in digital photography, the Learn4Life course catalog offers something for everyone.”

Courses run for six weeks with new sessions beginning every month.  Courses are taken entirely online with comprehensive lessons, quizzes, and assignments.  A dedicated professional instructor coordinates every course by pacing learners, answering questions, giving feedback, and facilitating discussions.

Users can enroll and participate in courses from EVPL computers or from their own home computer.  To see the full list of courses and to enroll in a course, visit evpl.org.

  1. Thanks for bringing this innovation of learning to our attention. I read of the offerings, found courses that I want to take, and immediately signed up for the first one. A great community offering.
