Freedom, IN- Congressional candidate Andrew McNeil began his tour of the 8th District this week, calling it “19 Days for 19 Counties”. During the month of April, Andrew will devote one full day to visiting with voters in each of the 19 counties represented in his district.  Few of the towns visited in the coming month will be seeing Andrew for the first time—over the last few months he has already scoured the district. However for the tour every County will now be announced in advance with a greater focus placed on local attractions and points of interests. Last week saw official visits to Owen, Greene, and Warrick Counties.

Andrew kicked off the tour on Monday with Owen County. He visited the towns of Spencer and Cataract going door-to-door through the neighborhoods and visiting with voters in businesses around the Owen County courthouse. Monday night ended with a well-attended candidate forum in Clay City in neighboring Clay County.

Wednesday was devoted to Greene County. Andrew stopped in Worthington, Lyons, Solsberry, Bloomfield, and Linton. As always, he visited with as many businesses and households as he could in each town. While in Solsberry, Andrew made a special trip to the Yoho General Store for lunch. There he heard from a woman whose hours were cut as part of the Obamacare mandate declaring a 30-hour workweek to be considered full time for insurance purposes.

Heavy rain interfered with plans to visit neighborhoods in Newburgh on Thursday, but Andrew honored his invitation to speak at the Warrick County Candidate Forum in Newburgh. Warrick Farm Bureau hosted the event which was also broadcast live on WBNL. The crowd of nearly 200 Republicans and Democrats erupted in applause when Andrew announced his intention to remove the EPA when elected.

Despite continued bad weather, Andrew devoted Friday to Warrick County. After a stop by the flooded Ohio River, Andrew walked up and down Newburgh visiting with businesses and followed that up with visits to the surrounding neighborhoods. The night ended at Warrick County’s Lincoln Day dinner, where Andrew learned from multiple new supporters that he had earned their votes after his appearance at Thursday’s forum.

“With only one month left before the primary vote, I’m more committed than ever to meeting with as many people as I can. It is my duty to provide the people of the 8th District with a choice on who will represent them in Washington, so I will continue to do everything in my power to let voters see who I am and what I stand for.”

  1. Has anybody seen Larry B? Oh, he to busy being wined and dined by his elite County Club buddies.

Andrew has my vote because he is down to earth and honest.

  2. Bucshon doesn’t get my vote and McNeil sure doesn’t but I wish him well on his gimmick stroll.

  3. Since I’m voting in the GOP primary, Mr. MacNeil will get my vote then. In the general election, that won’t happen, even if he would beat Buschon for the nomination. I know, this makes me seem like a bad sport, but I want to vote for Bruce Ungetheim and I’ll never vote for Buschon.

    • I’m still waiting for Kristi to make her move. She’s my preferred primary horse. If they don’t crank her up again, this time I’ll have to reluctantly conclude her important voice has been silenced. All that constitutional knowledge untapped. It’s the 8th District’s loss if her activism has been redirected back to her goats.

I can’t imagine agreeing with Mr. McNeil on much, but lacking a Risk in the race I’ll probably vote for him too to try to get Bucshon off the ticket. At least he’s doing something – walking.

  4. Since I support Term Limits–Period!–I won’t be voting for Mr. Buschon, in the Primary, or in the General Election.

  5. This guy is a nut. I heard him speak in Warrick County. He promised to “eliminate the EPA and other stuff.” Yes, he actually said “other stuff.” He claimed to have read all of the EPA regulations. I find that hard to believe, but I’m sure he’s done some stuff.

    • Sounds like a real idiot. I’m voting for him! Hopefully we can pick up a seat like we did with Donnelly.

      • The problem is that the “Democrat” that is running (Spangler is his last name, can’t remember the first) is not a Democrat. I checked his voting record myself. That said, I’d still rather have him than Buschon.

        • COMBAT-PAY INCREASE: Voting 185 for and 233 against, the House on May 26, 2011 defeated a bid by Democrats to increase the existing pay bonus for U.S. troops “under hostile fire” or “in imminent danger” from $225 to $325 per month. This was to be in addition to the 1.6 percent pay raise already in the bill for uniformed personnel. The vote occurred during debate on HR 1540 (above).

A yes vote backed higher combat pay.

          • Yes, and if you can’t afford to take care of the veterans, then don’t create any………

          • Desperate Dems are doing anything they can to distract the country from the ObamaCare debacle. Last week is was fanning the fires of wage envy, yesterday it was rallying the women to think they are cheated, and today it is a strawman vote to raise hazard pay for soldiers when there is no urgency at all to do so. This kindergarten politics has got to stop. Pay no attention to the manufactured photo op of the day that the DesperDems are counting on getting them out of the woodshed.

          • PASSWORD-SECRECY PROTECTIONS: Voting 184-236, the House on March 27 defeated a motion to HR 3309 (above) aimed at helping workers guard the secrecy of their personal passwords for accessing social-media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. The motion affirmed the FCC’s power to bar companies it licenses or regulates from requiring workers or job applicants to disclose confidential passwords as a condition of employment.

A yes vote backed the motion.

      • Nope. He’s the only “Democrat” on the ballot. He cannot be replaced via a caucus.

If no Democrat had run that would still be a viable option although hardly a practical one.

Buschon and company pulled a fast one.

For all practical purposes Buschon is running unopposed.

    • T911, Betcha anyone of’em that’s bemoaning the EPA and the Changed Climate, will probably have to eat that gripe for lunch by the end of summer.
Just to get it off the damn plate, and outta sight. Bout the time the drought conditions peak, and, the staples for a average family for a week really starts to determine what on the plates for dinner, then we’ll see what “stuff” might be determined to be.
When this happens, and it will. Once it sets in,and they know it is,you watch’em everyone of those frignorant trendanistas ” What mess,an all for themselves “freeferall.”
What they yapped about now will evaporate just like whats left of the clean water out along the southwestern third of the nation. Stuff, hum yeah, its about, stuff, alright,we’ll see.

Nope Obamacare is a wild success.

14M – 20M now have insurance that didn’t before. That’s from data compiled by the state insurances commissioners.

I guess the RW cashews think the commissioners are in on “cooking the books” LOL!

BTW your sides yapping point about the 5-6M being cancelled has been debunked its more like 1.5M and those people had a chance to get an equivelant policy on the exchanges.

Ohhh and the story today about the single mom collapsed a died from a lack of medicine and medical care is TRUE unlike the unending lies vomited up by the 1984 Birch Society “Americans for Propsperity>

Denying the troops more combat pay and veterans benefits is just more socialized risk(pushing the risk of fighting on the plebes) private profits. Heads the 1% win tails the public loses. SROP. Standard Republican Operating Procedure.

When the Koch Bros benefit from deregulation ie passing their externalities to the public “they Earned” and are being demonized by the left

When Bain and Romney milk 100’s of millions out leverage companies and then walk away from the debt in bankruptcy court they are “great businessmen” and “capitalists” “who earned” and liberals are just jealous.

Same for Wall St. In the RW world socialism, collectivism, etc are evil but socialized risk and private profits are A-OK even to be championed and worshipped eg Romney’s nomination.

BTW demonizing John Dunn for protecting his interests is as sleazy as demonizing Obama for the ACA, etc He was acting in the countries best interest, whether you like it or not.

    • You ever wonder why some people are so concerned about 1.5 million people losing their insurance but have absolutely no feeling of concern about 50 million who didn’t have it to begin with?

      • Bingo!

Because the bla errr I’m mean the Dem president had something to do with it.

Yes the 1.5M had their discount cards cancelled. Like it never happened before.

Just proving once again the TPer’s were in complete coma during W the Lesser’s reign on just about every issue. And while they were in a coma the Wall St frat boys trashed the place within an inch of its life and they blame Obama for the clean up cost.

Oh the Tea Party how do I hate thee… Let me count the ways.

  7. ‘BRIDGE TO NOWHERE’: Voting 181 for and 246 against, the House on March 2 defeated a Democratic bid to strip HR 662 (above) of funds for building the Gravina Island Bridge linking Ketchikan, Alaska, with an airport on sparsely populated Gravina Island. This is the “bridge to nowhere” lampooned in recent years as an example of wasteful congressional earmarks. While notoriety has cost the Gravina Island project much of its anticipated federal funding since 2005, HR 662 contains $183 million in fiscal 2011 spending for it and the Knik Arm Crossing Bridge, another controversial project in Alaska. This motion sought to remove the $183 million.

A yes vote was to defund the “bridge to nowhere.”

    Must go.
