Evansville, IN — To celebrate the start of summer and its growing commitment to the Evansville community, McGowan Insurance Group is proud to sponsor a free day of fun for the first 400 kids at the Burdette Park Aquatic Center on Friday, June 20th.
This event marks the kickoff of summer—and a celebration of something bigger—McGowan’s investment in Evansville’s future following its recent partnership with Schultheis Insurance.
“We wanted to do something that brings people together,” said Adam Johnson, Director of Sales & Marketing for McGowan Insurance Group. “This event isn’t just about giving kids a great first day of summer—it’s about showing up for the community we’re now a part of in a bigger way. We’re proud to be investing in Evansville and this is just the beginning.”
Late last year, McGowan announced its acquisition of Schultheis Insurance, a trusted name in the region since 1944. Unlike many mergers that shift resources out of town, McGowan is doing the opposite—we are dedicated to staying in the community and delivering outstanding service with a personal touch.
“This summer kickoff is about more than just a good time at the pool,” said Hugh M. McGowan, CEO of McGowan Insurance Group.
“It’s a symbol of what we’re here to do: support families, support local businesses, and be active participants in the community. We’re not just here to grow—we’re here to give back.”

“It’s our way of saying thank you to Evansville for all their years of trust in us,” said Kenan Schultheis, former Vice President of Schultheis Insurance. “We’re excited to welcome summer and even more excited to welcome a new chapter of community investment and growth.”
