Evansville, IN — Culinary Crossroads has announced Ivy Tech-Evansville will be serving as the “Presenting Sponsor” for the Oct. 26 initial dinner of the Culinary Crossroads-On The Road dinner series.Â
In coming on board with the “On the Road” dinner, Ivy Tech Chancellor Daniela Vidal sees the event as an opportunity to begin to re-imagine what the Hospitality and Culinary programs at Ivy Tech could and should be, and to demonstrate the school’s ongoing commitment to the culinary community in Evansville and the surrounding communities in Southwest Indiana.Â
 Chancellor Vidal will provide a brief overview of the school’s plans for delivering education, training, and support services to the culinary industry which has been forced to change drastically due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting changes in consumer behavior.Â
 “We are thrilled with the timing of this event as it coincides quite well with our current planning activities for delivering our customized education, training and service products to the culinary community,†Vidal said. “Re-imagining the programs is important for our community and I am looking forward to sharing an ‘appetizer’ of our plans at next Tuesday’s dinner.â€
Culinary Crossroads spokesman Larry Dickerson, said “Having Ivy Tech involved in our initial dinner and ongoing activities in Evansville and the surrounding area of Southwest Indiana will provide a tremendous foundation for success. We look forward to the ongoing collaborative efforts with Ivy Tech, chefs, restaurateurs, product and service providers, financial institutions, public officials and business owners, all of which have a vested interest in building and nurturing a vibrant culinary community. Â
The dinner will feature three of Evansville’s top “Chef Ambassadors,” Charisa Perkins-Copper House, Jeremiah Galey-Amy’s On Franklin, and Lake Russell-Schymik’s Kitchen. The Evansville dinner will also serve as the start of Culinary Crossroads’ ongoing monitoring, support and promotion of the Evansville culinary community with their stakeholders throughout the entire Hoosier State.Â
 The dinner series is just one of Culinary Crossroad’s initiatives which serve to raise the awareness of the people, products, places, and services which help define Indiana’s culinary landscape and make the state the preferred destination to live, work and play. Â
