IS IT TRUE
the City County Observer’s first endorsement in any campaign came out a winner last night?…Evansville’s native son and Indiana State Treasurer Richard Mourdock trounced six term Senator Dick Lugar by a 22 point margin in race that captured the attention of the nation and became a regular segment on all of the national news comment shows?…MSNBC and Fox both covered this race extensively as it became a national item of interest on the remaining influence of the Tea Party?…it seems as though the theme of the primaries held yesterday was that of “damn the status quoâ€?… if the sentiments echoed in yesterday’s primary’s with expected close races becoming blowouts and expected blowouts (see next section) delivering stunningly surprising negative sentiment toward “business as usual†that the fall elections are far from in anyone’s bag at this time?
IS IT TRUE in perhaps the strangest primary of the night in the State of West Virginia that President Barack Obama only defeated a federal inmate in a Texas jail for the Democrat nomination for President of the United States by a margin of 60%- 40%?… Keith Judd (the prisoner) was somehow entered into the West Virginia primary for president, never left his cell to give a campaign speech, and somehow defeated President Obama in 9 counties in West Virginia?…the comments made by the people interviewed by national news agencies in West Virginia regarding this unexpected outcome are unfit for print in the CCO?… this primary outcome was not about Mr. Judd, IT WAS ABOUT COAL MINING JOBS?…West Virginia is a heavily Democrat state as are nearly all of the coal belt states and that when one makes war on the economy of a state, one cannot expect those states citizens support?…West Virginia and Kentucky will in all likelihood deliver crushing popular vote defeats to President Obama and that the Obama Administration’s harsh treatment of the COAL INDUSTRY may just backfire on him in that other elector rich coal states Pennsylvania and Ohio?…neither Mr. Romney or President Obama appear to be able to win the Presidency without winning in either Ohio or Pennsylvania?…this is called reaping what one has sown?
IS IT TRUE the EARTHCARE ENERGY DEAL has been terminated by the City of Evansville and the announcement of that termination came quietly and late last night from the Office of Mayor Winnecke?…the reason given in the brief statement was that Earthcare Energy LLC was not able to meet the conditions set forth in the agreement made between the City of Evansville and Earthcare back in late February before the pictures, the announcement, the questions, and the rushed vote?…while it may be tempting to gloat and say “we told you so†we shall refrain from that and ask that all of our readers offer thanks and accolades to Evansville City Councilwoman Stephanie Brinkerhoff-Riley for her diligent work and courageous stand for the people of Evansville?…we also encourage our readers to thank and honor City Councilmen Dan McGinn, John Friend, and Al Lindsey who never blinked in the face of pressure and ridicule and provided a strong support structure for Councilwoman Riley’s courageous public stand?… as for the role of the CCO, we just did our duty and reported the news as it was discovered?
IS IT TRUE we congratulate the other winners of last night’s primaries, Congressman Larry Buschon, David Crooks, Alan Leibundguth, Thomas Washburn, Debbie Stucki, Chris Walsh, and Mitt Romney?…we wish them all a clean and honest general campaign?
IS IT TRUE on this day May 9th, 2012, the City County Observer has broken a traffic barrier and is now among the top 50,000 websites in the WORLD based on use?…GOOGLE is #1?
Can we please here the truth about the Earth Care deal???? The part right before the deal with the city! SBR for mayor.
“…while it may be tempting to gloat and say “we told you so†we shall refrain from that…as for the role of the CCO, we just did our duty and reported the news as it was discovered?”
The actual quote from the CCO reads like this: “We will refrain from tooting our own horns and taking the credit for this…BEEP BEEP…Oh sorry, that is just one of our thousand of adoring fans driving by and congratualating us on our outstanding success. BEEP, BEEP! There goes another. Sorry.”
Many of your readers are smarter than this. You broke a story that no one else was covering, albeit while constantly interjecting your own thoughts and opinions (but, you’re a blog, not a news site, so you have every right to do that). You should be proud that you did a good job. It’s an insult to the reader to act like you aren’t. Just leave out the integrity nonesense. You lost yours when you openly asked for donations to cover Councilman Lindsey’s attorney’s fees.
The machines little dog sounds like he got his little toes stepped on.
Too bad you have no idea who I am and what I stand for. I stand for honesty and integrity. Say whatever you want to say, just be honest about it. And, I am the farthest thing from the “machine”. I agree that the deal was sketchy and should have been looked at WAY more thouroughly than it was.
Also, “machines” is a possessive noun in your statement and should have an apostrophe. Thanks!
Don’t be so eager to defend yourself, I_Got_ID. I read your comment and perfectly understood it — unlike the good reverend.
Any update from the mayor’s 9am news conference?
We were not able to attend but the Mayor’s Office has been very cooperative in keeping us updated. We should have more information posted this afternoon.
Is it true that you had to go out and purchase a new batch of thats before finishing this afternoon’s report on the mayor’s morning news conference?
