IS IT TRUE May 6, 2015

IS IT TRUE  this election shall keep the Democrat party deeply divided for a long time?  …political insiders predict that the  present Democratic Party Chairman lacks the desire, leadership skills or direction to bring the Democrats back together?

IS IT TRUE the 4th Ward voters showed up but failed to garner the necessary vote to help Hart and O’Daniel win?

IS IT TRUE that political new comer Jim Brinkmeyer’s hard work paid off in his resounding victory over Al Lindsey?  …we congratulate both gentleman for a hard fought campaign?

IS IT TRUE we would like to congratulate Steve Davis for running a very competitive race against Missy Mosby?  …Missy  Mosby edged out him in a hard fought victory by a 482-467 vote count? …Mrs. Mosby earned a well deserved victory in her biggest political victory of her career?

IS IT TRUE that the absentee voters showed up and were very kind to Weaver, Mosby, Windhorst and Burton?

IS IT TRUE  Councilman Jonathan Weaver ran a heck of a race with a lot of help from his friends? …we congratulate Mr. Weaver for a hard fought victory?

IS IT TRUE that 1st Ward Councilman Dan McGinn’s win yesterday didn’t surprise anyone because he enjoys a good reputation in the community?

IS IT TRUE we expected political new comer Alex Burton to win but not by such a large  margin?

IS IT TRUE Mosby, Weaver, Brinkmeyer and Windhorst campaigned as an unofficial slate.?  …all enjoyed the quiet support of the union leaders, the Mayor, GOP Chairman Wayne Parke and his Republican buddies?  ..this slate conducted a masterful campaign?

IS IT TRUE we weren’t surprised  to see Winnecke’s Chief Of Staff, Steve Schaefer and City Controller Russ Lloyd Jr stopped by the FOP lodge to offer congratulations to local Democratic winners?

IS IT TRUE Democrat Mayoral candidate Gail Riecken must move  quickly in order to heal an extremely divisive Democrat party?  …we have our doubts this will happen because the union bosses and some of yesterday winners won’t allow this to happen?  …we predict Mrs. Riecken is geared up to take on Mayor Winnecke in an issue based campaign regardless of problems in the Democratic party?  …it’s important that Mrs. Riecken keep bringing up the financial woes facing this city because this issue alone will catch the attention of the masses if properly crafted?

IS IT TRUE we hope that the  attorney for the Vanderburgh County Election Board will look at all the provisional ballots before certifying the election results?  …they should also wait and see if they receive any military ballots in the next couple of days?

IS IT TRUE it looks like Mayor Winnecke may be on his way to build a political coalition that shall give him control of City Council?

IS IT TRUE we hear that some politically motivated Republicans are pushing to find an independent candidate to run  against Connie Robinson in the General election?  …Connie Robinson garnered many more votes than any other Ward candidates?

IS IT TRUE we hear talk of people urging O’Daniel and Davis to ask for a vote recount?  …we don’t expect that to happen?

IS IT TRUE much credit for yesterday election results should go to the Republicans who voted in the Democratic primary?

  1. One thing that is certainly “certifiable”,—- Evansville is a Political Nut house!

  2. Is it true that the editor of todays IIT would rather have the Demo chairman do a “Wayne Parkes” and tell the voters who to vote for?

Could it be true that by allowing the Democrats to “naturally” select their candidates in the primary election does not indicate a “divide” in their party?

Is it true that a divide in the party would actually be had if this fall election would be a repeat from 2011?

It Is True that city residents in general are fed up with their city government entity by the normal very low voter turn out?

IIT that they do come out for the county government races which does not appear to be a side circus show?

IIT that this poster will be paying the spring property taxes which includes city taxes which its border is up to ten miles away at it’s closes point?

IIT that the 6% tax is just a small price to pay to stay away from that “court jester” entity which just had a primary?

    • The view of a blender is more pleasant from the outside, and the margaritas are just as good.

  3. Is it true that Evansville’s Democratic voters in repudiating Al Lindsey, “M. Hart,” and Steve Davis took a small step toward rejecting the politics of resentment, immaturity, and nepotism?

Is it true that given the close nature of some of these races, the rage and hatred regularly expressed by Bandana, Ghost, Brains, Moveon, and others may well have turned voters away from their candidates?

    • Yes. . .Mr. Lindsey felt the sting of the voter backlash perhaps if he had only stand away for that now failed downtown bar and especially the company of Mosby. . .apparently Mr Lindsey should have been cognizant of the Mosbycrat mentality. . .the so-called “Take No Prisoners”. . .but one thing you can take to the bank. . .four years from now the tempest will be back. . .probably on the west side of our fair city. . .of course with the minions who obviously believes that Winnecke can NOT be running short on Cash. . .Why? Russ told them that Winnecke still has checks!!

    • +1

I remember after last year’s primary, the headlines on CCO were that the people spoke resoundingly. If the housecleaning that was done yesterday doesn’t send a clear message, then these people have no hope. The CCO and all of the rest of these “news” sources have been campaigning hard for Lindsey, Hart, O’Daniel and Davis and they were shown the door. I’m proud to say that I called every single contested race correctly. I’m also proud to say that I live in a community where the people will not tolerate the juvenile antics of politicians that put personal ego before community improvement.

      • You mean like STEALING THE PUBLIC TAX MONEY TO FEED TO OUT OF TOWN DEVELOPERS to build a motel 6 across the street from the Civic Center when the Federal Courts have told the City to fix it’s damn sewers and stop dumping raw sewage into the Ohio River?

      • You usually bring up a good argument. This time I disagree. There are remaining egotistical, self absorbed council members still on that ballot. Nobody wants to go against the big dog on the porch. I do agree that is the people’s fault. A quiet mouse running against a queen bee does not bring attention either. Name recognition. Amazing that most let someone else decide who will be on their ballot. I challenge all of them to encourage voter turn out in the future. Regardless on who they are voting for! Let’s see what a real election looks like. Not a local little gathering.

        • I never said that we got rid of them all. However, I believe that the ones that are remaining are smart enough to figure out which way the political winds blow. In fact, they’ve done more of that than leading any of the group initiatives. In my opinion, Friend, O’Daniel and SBR were the brains behind the alliance. I’d bet that they pushed most of the initiatives. Lindsey is a brainless puppet. Connie played the political game and Doc Adams toed the party line. Time will only tell how the remaining Council members will behave with the new Council makeup.

I’ve had conversation after conversation on voter turnout. I know that Wayne Parke reached out to Rob Faulkner and the Chamber to try to come up with ways to increase voter turnout. Being the bottom county in one of the worst states for voter turnout is embarrassing.

          • Phillip you way of working on voter turn out is the require more obsticles in the way of voters. Less Polling booths, and more photo ID required when they should not be necessary in most cases. Your GOP party constantly talks about voter fraud when there is very little of that actually going on. Just an excuse to require voter ID for the elderly who don’t drive anymore or the poor who don’t own a car and thus don’t have a drivers license with a photo on it.

If the Chamber really wanted to increase voter turn out for the better of the city they would have the elections last more than a few hours on a busy work day when people have to be at work 8 to 5 and only have a couple of hours combined to all go vote. Not everyone can afford to take off work to go vote for two hours.

So I call Hog Wash on your attempt to show your party cares about increasing the voter turnout.

      • Phoenix,
The winners won the losers lost, you’ll have that in politics. Unfortunately, at the end of the day you’re still the Phoenix. More self-congratulation is in order, have at it. Your political acumen is without parallel and has been noticed at the highest levels of city government. The prize you’ve so long demeaned yourself striving for is now in the pipeline. Being a heating and air guy you just might get to maintain those window air conditioners if they build that Pancaked Hilton downtown.

        • I would be the supplier, if anything. I don’t do service and install work. Plus they wouldn’t be window units. They would be through-the-wall condensers or packaged terminal air conditioning units. Thanks for the compliment on my political knowledge. Hopefully, I’ve expanded your knowledge on HVAC.

          • I didn’t realize Davis was in the HVAC business. Now we know why he rapidly defends the hotel boondoggle! He’s anxious to belly up to the public trough and feed on a contract to sell heating and air to our new cracker box hotel.

          • So he’s an uppity guy and won’t wash windows or clean the floors. What’s the matter with you old man you too good to do a hard days work these days. Heating and Air man. Yea right.

          • Moveon, just when I think you’ve hit rock-bottom on the stupidometer, you show that it goes even deeper. What in the hell are you even saying in that last post. Washing windows? Clean floors? Old man? Get off the computer, you’re drunk.

    • Yes, this town is all but lost. Out of control crime and eventual bankruptcy.

      • Out of control crime and …bankruptcy. Give me a break. You sound like you’re talking about a city that has been under Democrats control for decades like Detroit. How is it that you’re all for Obama and his reckless spending which led to our bond rating dropping, but you cry bankruptcy for the city of Evansville and our bond rating has never been reduced?

        • The proof is in the pudding. Anyone who has the means and isn’t a current insider is fleeing this shithole and the leftover scraps will be divided amongst the remaining hypocrites sucking on the public tit. After all somebody has to spend 5 minutes preparing a purchase agreement to sell properties to the city for 10x market value and pocket a bunch of cash for a commission.

        • Obviously Mr. Davis you have not reviewed the financials of Evansville over time. . .Frank McDonald was one of the most conservative City official that Evansville ever seen. . .left Russ Lloyd with nearly 50 million in reserve and when Mr. Weinzapfel took over the General Fund was only 200k less than one day reserve. . .however, it runs in the family. . .when Mike Vandeveer took office over 360 city employees lost their jobs. . .police, fire, and others out the door. . 50% of the street lights went dark. . .and now we have Santa Lloyd. . .deficit spending over the past three years in the amount of $27,000,000. . as it appears who is the liberal here??. . . Hotel on the boards now for 3 1/2 years. . .window A/C units. . .indoor pool now outdoors. . .cheapest windows money can buy. . .of course the mega scam of all: EARTHCARE. . .

          • I never claim to be an expert in affairs that I am not well-versed. I leave that to the professionals. Would you get medical advice from your doctor’s receptionist? I wouldn’t. Just like I don’t listen to financial talk from politicians. I listen to the independent sources that have built their businesses on their reputation for being accurate and, most importantly, unbiased. If the Indiana State Board of Accounts, Standards & Poor’s and Moody’s say that the City of Evansville’s finances are in order, I’d believe them more than a politician that has been caught in more lies than Pinocchio.

          • Hey, Mr. Davis. . . .question. . .if you had 5.6 million in the bank as of January 1, 2012 (the day Santa Lloyd rode in on his sleigh) in the hospitalization and now on January 1, 2014 your hospitalization fund is now over drafted by $700,000, can you do the simple math? Wouldn’t you come to the conclusion that you spent 6.3 million MORE than you collected. . . .what are you missing????

    • Not really any truth at all in your scribble. Your particular brand of simple-mindedness seems to have carried the day. Congratulations, troll.

      • There is nothing but truth in what I said, and the brand of rage, resentment, childishness, and hatred that you, Moveon, Ghost, and Brains represent is on display here yet again in its most unappealing, sore-loser form.

Gail Riecken would do well to repudiate the lot of you in this forum if she wants to win.

        • No, it was just all lies. You’re a pathetic troll, a hater, a fool. You are your own repudiation. Have a good one, Ace.

          • All the sullen rage and denial in the world is not going to change the fact that both Weaver and Missy are good “retail” politicians who are willing to talk to people under 40 years old, have jobs outside public employment, and have not lived here all their lives. I do understand the anger of you and your fellow Copperheads over the rejection of your candidates, but it seems to be clear that voters are turned off by the bitter partisan extremism you advocate.

          • You’re in fine form, troll, spewing like a teensy little geyser. Weaver and The Mosby make a living off marks like you.

          • The great majority of six-year-olds who experience losing a football or basketball game rapidly learn to control their disappointment, congratulate the winners, and resolve to work harder the next time–NOT have public tantrums.

You would do well to emulate them.

          • I didn’t lose a thing yesterday, nothing at all. You’ve got a sick obsession with trolling these boards under various names. You’ve relegated yourself to simply being a minor source of amusement. I doubt you’ve ever won anything in your life but just in case: you’re a sore winner.

You might want to start working on that next screen name, you’ve pretty well made a fool of Backfire although it’s probably fitting for someone of your ‘bent’. Ho ho ho.

          • Hatred, homophobia, and intolerance are not supposed to be Democratic values. I hope that Gail Riecken will move quickly to repudiate the support of those who cannot control their anger over their candidates’ defeats or who want to peddle conspiracy theories.

          • Go jump in the lake Backfire. You are an Idiot troll of the worst kind. What user name did you use last week that got banned?

  4. I wonder just how many republican’s crossed over and voted in the democratic primary to make sure that their candidate Missy Mosby will be assured another term on the city council so that they can count on her obvious support for the Mayor and his wife? I seriously doubt that the Democrats are that split. I think that Missy was supported by the GOP cross over absentee ballots. Anyone want to bet if the GOP will run a candidate against Missy when the general election rolls around? Why would they run anyone against her when she fully supports the GOP Mayor. That would be a waste of time and money.

    • Few to none. Crossing over is a Democrat trick. Remember how the Central Committee back stabbed Rick Davis by actively supporting his opponent?

      • Darn, you got us. Every single Republican in the City crossed over and asked for a Demo ballot to vote only for Mosby and Weaver. Feel better now?

        • Now your using the old OVER EXAGGERATION trick to try to back up what you said. Not working with me JoeBiden. And pretty pathetic attempt at wining an argument where you can’t prove what you are saying.

      • Name one and provide proof. I get so tired of you people making false claims that you could never substantiate. You’re not a Republican. I am. I do not know one Republican that voted in the Democrat primary. Were there Republicans that wanted them to win? Of course. Because some people are adults and think that community is more important than partisan politics.

        • You must not know many republicans or you are just a damn Washington D.C. Liar like the rest of them

          • Nah, movedon He’s just indentured, bending over, to move for those that hold the big rock over his widdle head. Its what is referred to as redemption through service .

            re·demp·tion

Can’t blame him for going for it , that place is an overburden to some of its citizens like ole phoenix as @Bandana calls out the valuation of most of his phoenix birded very unsustainable rhetoric .

    • I am Republican and I voted Democrat yesterday. I live in the 2nd ward and I wanted to be able to have my voice heard. I do not want Missy Mosby as the representative of my community. She has proven time and time again that she only cares about “playing the game” and could care less about what happens to her constituents. I am not saying that I believe whole-heartedly that Davis would have done a better job, but I would at least like to have been able to give someone else a chance. Letting the same person ruin your community day in and day out is really rather foolish. I am deeply disappointed in my fellow 2nd Ward residents.
The generalizations on this forum are laughable. I am sure that many Republicans voted for Missy Mosby and Weaver yesterday, but I was not one of them. Why must we declare Republican or Democrat when voting in the primary in Evansville (or in any community for that matter), when there isn’t any discernible distinction between one party or the other anymore. It’s all about “playing the game,” which many of the current office-holders know how to do very well.

    • So. . .let see how this works. . . Ol Missy can’t make it as a realtor over 6 or so years ago. . .leave the realty business. . .goes to a Mortgage outfit and than to another mortgage outfit and than to Wolf’s Auto Auction and than to Main Gate (server) and NOW Tucker Realty (Mayor’s Wife outfit) and now has gone on three vacations in least than one year. . . best part-time realtor money can buy. . .only in Evanspatch. . .Oh and she is lookin out for her constituents…right!

  5. I would like to see Steve Davis run as an independent against Missy Mosby in the fall.
And as a democrat, the thing that separates us from the republicans, IMO, is that we don’t have central figures (AM radio, Fox News, Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh ect) telling us what to do and who to vote for. We’re not the party of lockstep or nothing, we make up our own minds. If that comes off to some people as division, so be it.

    • Can not do. . .once rejected by a party the rejectee is barred as an independent challenger. . .

      • How nice and convient for the people in power. Huh. And you wonder why the people don’t even bother to vote anymore. They all know that the fix it on.

    • While you are correct in that the Dems are more independent and divided I’m not so sure that’s a good thing as it takes a united party to win elections and get things done according to a general set of principles. So division is never good. Heck if it were not for division of the Democrats the GOP minority in this country would never win a political race again.

I think that it should become the law that if you are a democrat or a republican you can’t cross over to vote for the other parties primary candidates. That’s a cheap way to try to win the falls election by elimination the best candidates of the other parties primary before the General Election is ever held.

      • Some states do not allow open primaries. Personally, I question the constitutionality of that.

Why can’t a citizen say today “I’m a Democrat”, but then tomorrow say “I’m a Republican” or “I’m and independent”? I don’t think I’d want to live in a country where people are legally bound to allegiance to any particular political party in any context.

Also, while it’s true the Evansville Democrats are highly divided, I think nationally the Republican Party is the more divided party. The Democrats, heretofore anyway, haven’t had to tangle with something like the Tea Party.

There’s no question Republicans have lost a number of major elections they likely would’ve won but for Tea Party groups working to nominate fringe candidates. Senate races in Nevada, Colorado, Delaware, Missouri, and even here in Indiana (where Mourdock beat Lugar in the primary, only to go on to lose in the general election) are obvious examples.

    • The last thing the local Democratic Party needs is candidates who lose Democratic primaries going on to challenge the candidates they lost to as independents in the general election.

What the party needs are more attitudes like the one expressed by Conor O’Daniel in the C&P this morning — it’s politics, the voters spoke and I came up short, praise for the candidates who won, and a pledge to do his best as he serves out his term.

      • Yes absolutely. We need more people to bow down before the all-mighty, all knowing political machine. The machine that can’t even fix/maintain our sewer, roads, bridges, parks and finances.

    • NO- yo0u have EVERY OTHER form of news media telling you what to say & trying to convince everything what is most important – except the FACTS – especially when the facts prove anything a liberal has done was illegal. ie Clintons taking huge donations from the wrong people & not reporting it. FACT. Yet media says the most important thing we need to focus our attention on is will the Republicans overplay their hand now that they have legitimate dirt on Hillary. I could go on & on…

  6. Editor, I challenge you to prove your “400 Republicans” number. There is no way of telling if there were crossover voters this soon after the election. Do you have a list of all of the voters? Did you research that list against the voters prior voting history? I didn’t think so. Conspiracy theories as usual.

Thanks Phyllip, point well taken. So noted and corrected.

    Editor

    • Of course, those numbers are not available now but like the last city primary 144 prior republican voters became dem voters in the second ward. . .now those poor souls get all that propaganda in their mailboxes. . .

    • Nobody cares what you think Phyllip. Didn’t I see you voting in the Democratic Primary yesterday?

      • Which Vote Center? It would be weird if they let me considering that I don’t live in the city.

        • Why are you so vocal, and attend so many city Rep. promotions if you live in the county? I remember seeing you at the first hotel community meetings where you were given the floor for longer than most people there who lived and had businesses in the city. I realize that there are cross-over issues but some of this stuff, the ward issues and the at-large elections for example are not on your turf. What gives?

          • Like it or not, we are a community. What happens in the city affects the daily lives of my entire family. I want to build the city up to where it’s somewhere that my kids may consider living when they get out of college. Is community such a far-fetched concept for you?

          • I’ve had similar conversations about this with Joe Wallace. Do you ask him how come he spent day after day writing about the affairs of Evansville when he lives in California? Of course you don’t. He tells you what you want to hear.

          • All part and parcel to the twisted politics that sap that place dry of real standing valuation. Its a fools bane, and in the long run they are played like a small fingered violin. “Not so much real music.”

          • @ Phyllip – Of course we are one interdependent community but my question still stands. Why were you given such an extended length of time to speak when many of us as taxpayers in Evansville, those who own both homes and businesses in the city, were given 3 minutes? What is so special about your opinion that gives you that advantage? I would imagine that you were saying what the popular crowd wanted to hear even though many in the audience did not agree. Sure I agree with a lot of the stuff Joe Wallace write. And I know that he cares about the community. But you come across as one who cares mostly about what his point of view can do for him personally. You have much less skin in the game that I and many others do who will be weighted down with paying for the miscalculated ventures of others.

          • V – let me get this straight. Are you saying that is a black man is a conservative he is an indented servant? Wow.

          • @Rhonda Don’t worry about it. I’ve become used to their vitriol. I’m the only one on here that is regularly called a slave working for his master and all kinds of BS.

@Martha I was not given any more time than anyone else and since the county was also part of the project, I do have skin in the game. If I remember correctly, it was the opponents for the hotel that regularly went over the time allotment and when they were asked to step down, they made rude remarks and continued speaking.

      • Gee Move, I guess you feel just a little bit more stupid now, don’t you. Typical of you to mouth off something that you heard 3rd hand from some other whining lib and then be completely wrong. But I can’t wait to see the excuses you use to cover up your ignorance.

        • Brandon M. Wrong about what? If I’m wrong I say so. But I’m usually right and you sir are mostly FOS.

  7. First sentence in the IIT is the sentence, word for word, in the newspaper story this morning.

    Do your own work, CCO.

    • Maybe the Paper guy read the CCO this morning and it’s just the opposite of what you think?

  8. I’m glad that the next City Council will be rid of Al Lindsey and Stephanie Brinkerhoff-Riley. Those two are clowns.

But I think Friend and O’Daniel are big losses.

  9. Actual voter comment, Connor, Doc, Stephanie, Friend ask too many questions. They should vote like Missy and Jonathan do.

    • You must have had some type of traumatic brain injury since I stopped visiting this page daily. You used to write with some intellect. (Although you were usually off-base.) Now it’s just wild ramblings of things that you say happen, but you never have any proof. What person in their right mind would say something like this? If you’re going to make up something at least make it believable. Who was the voter? When and where did they say it. Do you have any proof that will back up what you have said?

      • The comment came from a Democratic precinct committee person. They said it to me personally to my face.

        • Truly sad. It is their job to ask questions. If Weaver and Mosby don’t ask, they need to be corrected or removed.

        • Okay. That makes it even more believable. Most PCs that I know are knowledgeable on politics. You expect me to believe that a Democrat PC said this as a reason why they supported Weaver and/or Mosby? Do you have some Arizona oceanfront property to sell me also? If that is indeed true, it speaks volumes for the intelligence of your party.

          • Phyllip, there have been quite a few precinct committee people that are less than knowledgeable. You know this. Everyone knows this. There have been some that try so hard to fit in. I hate to say it but are just down right weird. I believe him/her. With the voting habits and some of the political volunteers around here it seems plausible.

      • Oh How Smart that must make you feel for yourself, Y you self back slapping idiot . You are dumber than you look and that’s pretty pathetic at best.

  10. Last night’s big winner was none other than Mayor Lloyd Winnecke.

Lindsey, Friend, Brinkerhoff-Riley and either Adams or O’Daniel are gone.

He now has Weaver, Mosby, and Brinkmeyer, and McGinn, to support him in the Fall. If Elpers wins in the 5th Ward he’ll have the 5 votes needed to ram through whatever he wants. {{{ Shudder}}} and that doesn’t even count Burton and Robinson, and maybe Schiber too.

BTW Steve Schaffer and Russ Lloyd were at the FOP last night to congratulate Missy. That should tell you a lot about this town.

    • Best advice. . . sale your home while you still have some value. . .Santa Lloyd and Christmas Carol will be loading up the sleigh heading to the sunshine state of AZ. . .and like Bertrum will leave all of us holding Santa’s bag. . .

      • That thought comes to mind periodically. But I cannot do so. Since I am stuck I can either ignore the mess that is Evansville, or try to be optimistic and work to improve the mess. Or work in an area other than the political arena to make the city and my live better. I pick door number 3.

  11. Steve Davis needs to run as an indie. Pound away on Messys vote to still want to give Earthscam 5 mil despite all the evidence.

  12. You people only had less than 7 % turnout from what’s being reported. Absolutely pitiful. Anyone as brazen to sport the comment that the people have spoken is an idiot. If they’ve said anything its that they’ve flat out given up hope the place will ever break out and recover from under the foul clandestine leadership that dons the sock puppet candidates on the ballot available to them.

No wonder the place is low on the well being list. Less than seven percent and those are likely the ones who are attached to the political feed line by the umbilical. Terrible turn outs usually means terrible governance as well.
We feel sorry for those we know there that end up stuck with that ongoing snafu.
The CC needs to set an immediate agenda to pinch the flow of funding onto worthless projects.
Get what you can back into some actions that have valuation at the first glance.

Less than seven percent…….! “fails to meet acceptable standards”

Couldn’t even a sport 7% voter turnout, what a joke.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfOqXFcycB8

    • 4.3% of the voters participated in the race between Abell & Ungethiem and you were one of the people supporting the notion that the people had spoken. Now when your people lose, you do an about face.

      • That’s a lousy turnout as well. However none are my people as you have said. I don’t go to the polls in the city of Evansville, however I do have plenty of contacts in that area. And about the same number in the counties and towns that make up the what is called that tri-state.
Something’s wrong when an area can’t bust over 15 % of its registered voters heading to the polls.
Smacks of “why bother its all a fixed availability anyhow.”

The needs to move that place forward, affordably and grow and improve some decent infrastructure that doesn’t invade the entire clean water balance of the nation is the primary objective we work for.

The political situation in that town and county is exactly why we’ve chosen to introduce our solutions in a more productive and efficient evolving regional system of governance In the United States and abroad.
Evansville is stuck in the middle of the last century, and its the ongoing system of politics as usual is what keeps it there. Poor leadership always leads to poor performance and that is the core essence of the issue. Its a really bad denominator to have present election, after election.

        • I agree it is pathetic. That is what the local politicians need to work on around here to create unity. Put their self on the line. Work together for better incumbents, encourage all qualified individuals to run, and rally voters regardless of the outcome. This community will not see improvement with the way things are now. They have people scared to voice an opposing opinion.

  13. Scorecard for the last 4 years

CSO/Sewers Next to NOTHING has been done D-

Convention Hotel BIG LIES were told for 18 months about how the money was lined up and everything was
    ready to go F

Roads Worse than ever The Lloyd 41 exchange is NOT a city function D
We were told there wasn’t enough money to properly maintain the roads or remove the
Snow BUT we have $20M for the Hotel and $59M for the Med school

Water lines Nothing was done. F

Parks More run down and dilapidated than ever. We were told there wasn’t enough money to
replace the steps/scaffolding at Hartke pool $300k but we somehow had $5-10M for Roberts
    Park F

    Finances Worse than ever D-

So I guess stating these obvious facts is expressing my rage, hatred, and childishsness

    • Rage, hatred, and childishness is well exemplified by your post. Lloyd Winnecke has not been a good mayor, yet pretending that the issues he is dealing with were not largely created by or greatly worsened by his immediate predecessor reflects your immaturity. The City Council people who now profess to be concerned about spending and accounting were for the most part silent rubber-stamps for Jonathan Weinzapfel. Given the overwhelming Democratic dominance in Evansville, there is no way that Gail Riecken should lose, yet when people see Winnecke trying to move ahead, staying positive, and not spending all of his time blaming Jonathan Weinzapfel, they perceive leadership, however misguided and suspect it may be in real life. Gail Riecken, on the other hand, has not been specific about any different hard choices she would make, and she continues to have trailing behind her as supporters some of the worst, most vulgar, bitter-ender partisan extremists in the city whose rage and unreasonable hatred is on daily display here.

      • Who gives a care what mess he was handed.

So not complaining about the mistakes of previous administrations(Who help him come to power) is leadership?? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Again like so many others you call me names say I’m childess, yet you even implicitly admit I right.
You try to change the subject to Gail and CC members and stuff that is ancient history.

Winnecke is like a football coach who wants his team to run a trick play but his players can’t even
block or tackle! Hell they can’t even line up in the correct formation!

Roads are worse, sewers are worse, water delivery is worse, parks are worse.

The clowns you support cannot even provide basic government services. Repeat they cannot supply our basic government services properly.

        WINNECKE = FAILURE = WINNECKE.

So let’s here it from the Weaver, Winnecke Mosby supports.

        Please list all their accomplishments.

I don’t consider being a social butterfly, making the rounds at church, answering mail and “being available” as being an accomplishment, but evidently many in town do.

        • Taking selfies carries a lot of weight nowdays. I don’t see much hope for society.

        • The article was clear that Friend was attempting to united and promote tranquility. . .of course, Mosby and Weaver do not know how to spell the word. . . how foolish can Friend be thinking that these hate mongers would change their ways? He obviously forgot about the Blond Bomb’s “take no prisoner” mentality concerning trying to get a man’s job, i.e. Al Lindsey. . .ol Al may not have wings on his back but her wickedness towards her follow human being is despicable. . .my dear Blonde Bomb, we will all reap what we so. . .for the love of God hope you come to that realization. . .

      • Poor ole Shem/Quark Donahue hit his ‘hate’ quota early in the day. He then carried on, exceeding his personal best. Seething and spewing out of spots he hasn’t had occasion to use for a while. I guess maybe that’s it. He has set the bar high. What a sad little creature.

  14. The Evansville Economic Development Commission will hold a special meeting on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Civic Center Room 307, 1 NW Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Evansville, IN 47708. The public is invited to attend.

Here is your chance to go ask questions about how Evansville is going to get the $200,000 that was snuck to Earthcare back.

    • Joe: True denominators and the core essence of the given viable solutions. After following the mess in that local area, that meeting is probably already a wash as well.
The lack of Quantitative Data vs Qualitative data given lay’s down the ridiculous assertion that the place can ever bond or support those pipe dreams built upon that grossly over taxed infrastructure. The project proposals as seen from afar are laughable at best count. Especially the Medical school extension. I believe Mr. Martin who is affiliated with the Promenade development made that set of facts pretty clear in his last press released statement. His point was clear. The present direction basically knee caps any student body regulated to use a poorly planned archaic mess of a extension school as they have proposed on a failed logistical infrastructure.
Even the funding smack down given Ivy Tech on its once expected participation could evaporate as a real issue per the funding budgets if the site was moved to the modern more reliable , healthier
Site RFP. That out of the first fold of the box.
They have a longer road ahead of them due the lack of actual valuation in the obsolete neglected logistical infrastructure offer. That’s the unbalanced point of contact in that forced push of the scales offered by the present projects and proposals. The project was kneecapped from the start.

      • V, they’re not moving the IU Med School. Why? It’s a dumb idea.

Indiana University wanted downtown, and they’re smart. Pretty important to listen to that.

This idea floated to re-discuss this…..is a waste of ink.

        • A few voters less than 17% of those that are actually registered to vote actually voted. And I’d bet that the percentage of people voting in this primary was much lower than 17% when you think of all the people who could have voted if they had been registered. IE those that live inside the city limits that were of legal age but just refused or failed to register to vote. 17% of 50% is a very insignificant number of people making decisions in these primaries. So you are wrong again. The real voters don’t get counted due to many factors.

        • That’s straight BS. Its going to be specified by the science for once. You’d best open your eyes and shut your mouth. We’re about to unload our recovered on that mess, and your post is certainly just a waste of words. A grand knee capping from the politico cronies bailout rant political suckers that held those miserable properties in the hope of a under the table valuation per. ( NO BASIC ESSENCE OF THE SITUATION APPLIED TO THE COMMON TAX PAYING CITIZEN WHATSOEVER. ) If so show us the numbers we are all eyes.
Once calculated the downtown site is just miserable day old bread bail out toast. “Everybody knows that”. But did you know….that’s waiting in the wind? Good, our group has total strategic control over that information. Best jump that boat while its close to the bank, why? Its a really good idea for your balance to stay afloat.
Also list your personal achievements and experiences in the matter of urban and social economic recovery. We do know, however the rest of this little political board might find some amusement in the comparative valuation through the science that we have, on any given day, over your idiotic ranting about modern site valuation by actual point focused scientific analysis.

Cartoon politicians what a complete laughable situation………..BUT…WAIT there’s more……………. sure is.

      • IU wanted a school in SW Indiana. They considered all locations and were swayed quite a bit by being told that locating a school downtown would “save” downtown, as we all have been. But now when the state government is not funding the whole program even with the huge expense on our part, it is time to reevaluate. If it is possible to change the location of the school, keeping within SW Indiana, and lower the cost considerably, we must reconsider. There is no magic to downtown that it should warrant that much extra expenditure. Do we want the whole program well done and in our area or do we want to keep beating that dead downtown horse?

    • 1. ….the first order past tense of sneak is “sneaked,” not snuck. Snuck is secondarily accepted. (Hi Joe.)

      2. Oh…..how soon is Connie Robinson going to endorse Gail Riecken? (She’s not. She’s endorsed Winnecke.)

      3. Man, some people in here who demand they are right about so many things about the Evlle GOP – got a lot of egg on their face! Still, they insist the voters are wrong and they are right. THAT is arrogance.

  15. The irrational anger, the foul language, the not-at-all-disguised racism directed at Phyllip, and the homophobic remarks made by people who claim to be loyal Democrats here reflect badly on them, and I am relieved to see that Democratic voters have given this group’s candidates their walking papers.

    • Backfire you are attacking the very people who Gail will need to win the election. I don’t really think she cares what your GOP people who hate her think. The only one showing any anger in here is people like you to falsely think that they are being attacked when they themselves are the one doing the attacking. You sir are a Passive Aggressive Idiot. No one in here is buying your “crying wolf”. Placing cards that you yourself hate is not working.

      • If Gail NEEDS raging, immature, and foul-mouthed Democratic voters who attack Republicans for racism and homophobia at every turn, yet engage in exactly that kind of rhetoric themselves, then she does not deserve to win, nor should she even want to be the mayor of Hatersville. The good news is that the voters seem to be seeing the light and sidelining you and your dwindling group of extremists.

      • Predictably, Shem/Quark Donahue/Backfire has now gone to the two-name two-step, fooling no one. He’s an oily one, as unctuous as they come. Not really much to the guy but trolling and name calling. These should be happy times for him, perhaps he doesn’t know the tide has turned.

        • Bandana,

          No. You are wrong.

Further, this is an ignorant post. And its inaccurate.

Bandana is sneering, clawing, scratching, biting while heaving and heavily gripping the edge after a day of personal humiliation. (And I’m not Backfire.)

Did you have ANY winners today Bandana?

  16. I tried tno enter the mole hotline 25=times, but the system would not leet me ,enter. This is a phonry site. They will only let certain posters dnter their biased opinions.

  17. Watch this joke, an do observe the fake accents –> What a series of jokes — Even the reporter throws out a fake sophisticated accent , absolutely gut wrenching sickening.
Then the creepy off key performance by a politico biased idiot attorney. That fool did that on film. Ah Evansville politics, skills and sciences means nothing as long as one sports the old cronies rants.
Painful to watch for the older proud citizens I’ve grown to know there. Ole McRobbie is shown to be an silly rube played to the maximum. He could have so much more if he’d just rebid that RFP mess.

Build for climate change. Anything else is just a waste of the little available funding. The planet is setting the balance, the minor political incursions of a really bad biased local government will only punish its citizens revenue base even further into the abbess .
That is the simple essence of the issue. Nothing more , and certainly nothing less.
