I am not a fan of censorship or political correctness, which are mostly one in the same. That is why I have always been open to what others are saying, even if I did not entirely agree with their views. You must take it all in and sort through it yourself. Hopefully, the public would remember that the original N. Main project was sold as costing $13 million which nearly maxed out the bonding capacity, but the Clowncil was assured than the $3.5 million from the Jacobville TIF would be the safety net. Then can IN-BED ED noticeably Hafer or in this case, Hafer and Associates with design fees in the neighborhood of 1.2 mil and of course when the project re-marked at 18 mil those fees tracked proportionately. And, now we have this issue!!! Let’s take a stroll down memory lane ..its 1989 and Robert’s Stadium is the subject . .who was the design outfit at the time??? Johnny, do we have a winner??? Oh, yes . .Mr. Hafer
Hell yes someone or some firm must be held accountable for the N Main Street fiasco. The City should be open and transparent in addressing this fiasco. You don’t jackhammer up the cement unless there was a major screw up. How much will these repairs cost and where will the money come from? Do the businesses that suffer continued economic losses have a law case against the City?
