IS IT TRUE good news was just released about the McCurdy Hotel project?…a full nine years after the former mayor of Evansville handed $900,000 to a crony and campaign donor to kick start the project, that ultimately failed and lost the taxpayers $1.4 Million, another company says the project will be completed in 2017?…the old girl is looking pretty good from the outside and we are once again encouraged that this one year project is getting finished at the end of its ninth year?…2017 is shaping up to be a watershed year for downtown Evansville?…it has been a long time coming and we hope to see more successes than failures after 40 years of continual decline?
IS IT TRUE downtown Evansville while seeing a number of new eating establishments is still not immune to having businesses struggle to survive or cease operations?…it has been asked whether or not Salad World has closed?…it does seem to be closed as it hasn’t been open at some obvious times to open?…the CCO hope that Salad World stays open and finds success but it could be another casualty of downtown Evansville as well?

concerning the poor performance of the VA health system, I’ve long favored elimination of it. Instead issue a VA card allowing treatment at any dr. or hospital, eliminating the admin cost. The efficiency of the present system is terrible.
That seems to be an extremely common-sense solution.
On the resturants downtown, they will have to provide something special to lure business downtown. I don’t have reason to go there when there are so many other options with good parking, service, prices, and food. There are too many hurdles to jump to be successful in the food business. Start-up resturants have a high failure rate for the first 5 years, a bad risk , with small rewards.
Republicans are wasting their time. Obamacare has “repealed” itself. Exchanges have closed and the few insurance companies still participating are only doing so because Obama is illegally subsidising them with taxpayers’ money. A full expose’ of Obamacare should be demanded.
Speaking of Obama, his true colors are showing. He terminated long standing U.S. policy of accepting refugees from COMMUNIST CUBA if they make it to our shores. (true refugees) Meanwhile he has those illegally entering via our southern border secretly transported to various states at our expense, never obtaining permission of those states. Illegal aliens. Millions of them take precedent over legitimate refugees from Communist countries.

I think, if I am wrong correct me, that the McCurdy project has gone from high-end condos, to high-end apartments, to apartments. Will there be any rent subsidized apartments in the McCurdy?
